But then, 1020mAh EN-EL20 cost only about $10.

(These are only 800mAh, just like the original BMD ones, but you get the idea. I'm not in the US, so maybe I got a particularly good deal)

1800mAh for five bucks. Personally, I have little desire for a bulky $139 battery back when I can just get the same performance from 6 internal batteries for $35. Except if you're into timelapses, I can't really see any practical or financial advantage of that external pack over a handful of Nikon batteries.
