These Creative T40 II's are what I use. I really like them, although I hear the M-Audio Av40's are better.

I thought this was budget audiophile haha (or is £100 considered super low budget :o). The logitechs are only available from about £130~ as far as I can see :/
Would it be complicated to choose an amp and speakers? Just seems quite complex to me.
Also do you happen to know anything about these?. Just saw them for £25 on gumtree (kinda like craigslist for UK).
Thanks :)
Hey guys, So I'm a little confused as to what to buy at the moment. I'm looking for a pair of speakers to be used primarily for music. Looking to spend around £200 ($260~) but I am willing to spend a bit more.
I've been looking at these for a while but i'm not sure about them as I'm guessing I'd need to buy some sort of amp in order to drive these?
Also been looking at these.
I'm pretty new to this audiophile stuff so I'm quite confused as to what to buy and what would sound the best and be worth the money.
Any help / advice would be appreciated.
Creative do some decent ones for not a lot.
Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II (2.0) Multimedia Speakers with MTM Audiophile Configuration and BasXPort Technology https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001IZZ2PO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_y8rKDb92QAPEA
I use a separate dac/amp and hifi speakers fed from the optical output of my sound card which is my face but used to have these things and they're decent for the price

Hmmmm interesting these look really nice, Slightly cheaper but I'm really liking the fact that there's individual bass, treble and max volume knobs.
I think you may of just changed my mind...?
How are these?

Any suggestions for studio monitors? Thanks
5.1 is a pain to setup correctly. Either you have a mess of cables or you spend time cutting them all to size. I used to have 5.1 for my PC and it was not worth it for music alone.
I now have these: Creative GigaWorks T40
They obviously don't have the same bass and volume as my Logitech Z-5500 set but they are perfect for general listening and plenty loud enough.
really cheap passive audio switch should do what you want.

It has 3 inputs and one output. Depending on the output from the computers and TV, you could use a simple RCA phono to phono or male headphone jack cable for each of the inputs and a RCA phono to female headphone jack cable on the back of it to connect your headphones to.
I'm in the UK but I can't imagine it being more than $20 for the whole thing.
I have pretty well this set up and it works just fine.
I've added a set of speakers instead of the headphones socket

These have a headphone output on the front so I get the best of both.
i wouldn't go wireless, as you pay more normally for wireless speakers. I would go for something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-Multimedia-Audiophile-Configuration-Technology/dp/B001IZZ2PO/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1468596178&sr=8-16&keywords=2.0+speakers OR https://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-51MF1610AA003-GigaWorks-Multimedia-Technology/dp/B001IZZ2PE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1468596178&sr=8-2&keywords=2.0+speakers
but your wont find much for 50, mine cost £100 for the speakers "Monitor Audio MR1" and i paid £40 for the amp "SMSL SA-36A" and im sure that they are better than most multimedia speakers
