That's a helluva lot of money to spend on a membrane keyboard. With that budget you could easily go for a mechanical keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate if you need macros, backlighting, etc; Filco Majestouch 2 if you just need a good keyboard. Advantages of a mechanical include longevity, reduction in effort to type/game, and the pleasure of having a click-clack sound (depending on the switch type) with each keypress. Check out /r/keyboards, they have a lot of information on some really good keyboards.

I'm looking for a nice plain black switch type keyboard. I'm 50 years old so I'm not into the whole LED flashy thing. Just a plain Jane good quality mechanical keyboard with black switches. I did just find this, but I can't tell if it's USB or not. I don't want the old PS/2 style connector.

Hey, I love my Filco Tenkeyless.
I haven't had any of those boards personally, but am basing off the general opinions I see on here. WASD (CODE) and KUL tend to get recommended for straightforward mid-end boards.
