I just got myself a Garmin 220 (which is fantastic btw!), carrying the phone is a bit of a hassle but I got myself one of these and it is amazing.
My phone fits snuggly into it as well as my bank cards and ID for emergencies and as the majority of the strap is elastic it doesn't bounce at all. I used to have a small belt for keys and things that would bounce about and chafe but this one has been amazing (thought I've only had it on a handful of runs, but some of those were pretty long)
I know it isn't a solution to the problem but it may be something to consider if you have a budget.
