I think you aught to get at least 2 different bags. One that is more athletic/casual(nylon, ice pack built in?) and one that you can dress up a bit(leather?).

My wife is T1 so I know the issue with carting your gear around is real.

You are already on the right track with some of your bags. I'd definitely get the highest quality bag you can tho, it's not like you are gonna stop needing to carry it.
