Fujitsu Leaf Springs; absolutely lovely linear switches and THICC doubleshot caps.

To use it on a modern computer is quite simple:

  1. Buy this cable to convert it to PS/2 link

  2. Buy an active PS/2 to USB converter

daisy chain it together and it should work, unless the keyboard is using some weird terminal language.

Original PC keyboard. They sell USB adapters for that.

If you can't find one, you can make one from this.

Hard to find a single cable. First get a 5 pin din to ps2 converter. Kenable AT Keyboard to PS/2 Adapter - 5 pin Din Female to 6 pin Male https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003OSTBZA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_n6w4Cb1VMWRDS

Next, get a ps2 to USB Oxsubor PS2 to USB Female,PS/2 Male Converter Changer Adapter for Keyboard Mouse 2pcs by Oxusbor(Notice:Can't Match All Motherboard) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N5MYE72/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_s8w4Cb4TS5899

Interesting. If that's the case they are alps.tw Type T1 clone switches

To get it work on a modern PC just pick up this adapter then daisy chain it to an active PS/2 to USB adapter and it should work without a hitch.

The keycaps look like they could be double-shots as well. Which are excellent.

I use an AT-to-ps2 adapter plugged into a ps2-to-usb converter. Including links to the specific ones I use but others probably work just as well.

Thanks a lot IoSonoFormaggio and BillyBuerger

I going to order both the 5 din and ps/2 adapter from Amazon.

Thanks also for the Teensy info. Hoping the adapters do the trick. The cable itself is still in pretty good condition. Would love to keep it whole.

Also found this other converter from tinkerBOY. Minimal, but a bit pricier, and a longer wait for delivery.

I've got a '89 Northgate Omnikey 102 (non Ultra). The Omnikey 102 has a AT and XT protocal switch so I'm good there.

I just want to be sure; I need a Din to PS/2 connector? Kinda like this https://www.amazon.com/Kenable-AT-Keyboard-PS-Adapter/dp/B003OSTBZA ?

u/DzoniGrmljavina · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

So If I understood correctly, I need something like this and this to make it work.

Should this adapter work to make an old mac 0116 work with ps/2?

Any similar AT to USB option is $25+ on ebay.

u/papodaca · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

AT keyboards use the same protocol as PS/2 btw. Can be adapted to PS/2 with a passive adapter like this one.

u/bothunter · 1 pointr/techsupport

Very likely. You'll need one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/kenable-AT-Keyboard-PS-Adapter/dp/B003OSTBZA

as well as one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Sewell-Active-Adapter-Keyboard-Mouse/dp/B008J56RVY

You'll probably want one of these to reduce the strain on your motherboard from having two adapters hanging off the back: https://www.amazon.com/C2G-Cables-Go-52119-Extension/dp/B00CJG2ZYM

You need the "active" converter which takes care of converting the keyboard signal to USB. Most of the PS2 to USB adapters out there only connect the pins and rely on the keyboard to send the correct USB signals down the wire.

that looks like a DIN connector here's a adapter to ps2
