I literally just bought that monitor yesterday. Gonna test it out when it comes on Tuesday, cant wait! I hope all my games support that fucked up 21:9 resolution.

Trust me, you're better off getting the 2560x1080 over the 3440x1440 if you plan on playing video games at 60FPS, because the latter is such an insanely high resolution you WILL have to tone down the graphics even if you have a monster PC. 4k is even higher, so good luck with that.

60 FPS @ max settings with max AA on a decent resolution > ~30fps at medium settings at a super high resolution.

Besides the FreeSync integration, I believe the LG 34UM65 ($579) has the same specs.

Vizio will really be the only one that is still relevant at $1500 for a 58 inch, besides the aforementioned LG monitor, of which they have a 1440p and a 1080p version as well, there's the $1300 34um95 which is 1440p, and the $700 34um65, which is the 1080p version with a couple less inputs.

Yeah, but he did say the LG 34UM65 is "amazing" and it's only 1080 high...

In the high 500 price range you can get a LG 34UM65 (34" ultrawide) which is much nicer to have than a 29" ultrawide (too small IMO). I do the same thing as you (music production in ableton) and having everything on 1 screen is a lot nicer than splitting across 2 monitors as that's what I used to do. I have the same exact monitor and I can't recommend it enough

Geez, I completely forgot I even posted this lol. This build has completely changed since I posted this, now I'm running a pair of 24" Asus ips monitors in portrait on either side of one of these bad boys. Btw if you are looking at upgrading a monitor I highly recommend an ultra wide. They are FANTASTIC for movies and games. Here it is on the bench before I mounted it.

Go Ultrawide, dude!

You can get a 34" 34UM65 for $570 on Amazon, which will have the same vertical height as a 28" 16:9 monitor, but with a little bit extra on the sides - which is really awesome for gaming.

Trust me, once you go Ultrawide, you never go back.

LG 34UC97 ($1589.99)
LG 34UM95 ($1120)
LG 34UM65 ($599.99)

The 2560x1080 $600 would be the easier to manage one. A little less than two 27" 1080p monitors together. The 1440p ones would need a massively powerful PC to power it. But a curved monitor sounds awesome.

The monitor is actually a little cheaper than $1000, but you're right, it's probably out of my budget. :(

But everything else looks pretty close to how I had it, just more filled out with stuff I forgot. Sweet! So this will do everything I want?

Edit: Forgot to say THANKS!

I don't really know your price range but I picked this up over the summer ($150 off, on sale) And I love it.

21:9 1080p is great for productivity (I'm using Solidworks) and if 1080p is all you need it is a fantastic ISP monitor. If you need more the 1440p is $800 right now. (If you were looking for a more budget friendly monitor I'm very sorry to mislead you)

It' just one monitor. 21:9 aspect ratio: LG 34"

Instead of the 28" 4k screen ... maybe you'd consider a less expensive 29" or 34" 2560x1080 Ultrawide screen. Gives you that immersive wide view, without bezels. For a 4k screen, you'll really going to need SLI to keep that thing with a stable and smooth frame-rate. A single GTX 980 and probably a 970 will handle 2560x1080@60Hz with no issues.

Alternatively, there's a 27" G-Sync 1080p@144hz monitor out now for around the same price. A single GTX 980 would power it quite well. Expansion to SLI only needed for future unknown games.
