The white Magicforce 68 with backlighting and blue switches is available for $62.99 on Amazon here.

Well this is on USA site. And it is not that good. This is better for example https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboard-GATERON-Magicforce-Qisan/dp/B01J708CCG/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482878122&sr=1-1&keywords=magicforce+68+gateron .Better switches and quality. U could try for a used one to get a nice one

u/TIFUbyResponding · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

For that price you can do MUCH better than the ASUS, and just as portable, while still keeping the RGB lighting.

Some examples:

https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1541

https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1754

If you can do without RGB lighting and just do white: https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboard-GATERON-Magicforce-Qisan/dp/B01J708CCG/

And if you want one without the F keys: https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1606

Please look through the sites to find one with the switches you would prefer. I chose switch versions randomly.

After a few internet searches,I found out that people tend to like Gateron better.I think my mind is made up.I'm guessing this is the one you have in Brown switches?

What keycaps would you recommend?

EDIT:Added a little more juice.

u/dhtilly · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

Amazon carries them with Outemu and Gateron switches all the time.

On Massdrop there is a sweet Varmilo VA104 that comes with Gaterons of your choice, and a KBP 60, both in mid range. For cheap and nasty this cutie is alright. It comes in black but not with clickies. I've seen it on massdrop a few times though!
I must head to bed so I will be gone for a bunch of hours, hopefully someone else can throw some recommendations!

Pick up a Magicforce board, they're the best budget mechs out there.

u/theFunkiestButtLovin · 1 pointr/EDC

yeah, but I often use command or option to jump work or line at a time. 3 keys starts to get beyond my comfort level. I went with this one as a good compromise: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J708CCG

Magicforce 68 with Gateron Blues any good? How do they compare to cherry?
(here is the link)

u/Andelulz · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I believe they're Gateron Blues. This is the one I ordered :)

u/JarateKing · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

I think a poll showed browns as the most preferred overall I think, but that's mostly just because they're a compromise between both imo. It's 100% preference and if you think you'll like blues, you should go with blues. The Magicforce does come in blue switches also, such as: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J708CCG/ref=twister_B01MFBKOZC?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I like dedicated F# keys too, but keep in mind almost all keyboards that don't come with them (including the magicforce68) have a function key so you still can input F# (among other things). Just incase you're thinking you can't use them at all and deciding based on that.

Is this a good price for this Poker, or just get a Magicforce in this price range?

u/timelordtracer · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Stuck between [Magicforce 68] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ABUJ0FY/ref=psdc_12879431_t3_B017N5SH6S) ($40) and Drevo Gramr ($40).

Or should I just bite the bullet and get the Magicforce with gateron blue switches for $62? I heard they're smoother than the outemu swiches.

u/doubletakejake34 · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Bummer. I did find this though, thanks to your suggestion. Any reason why the varmilo is so much more expensive?
Also, do these keyboards have options to remap keys and their shortcuts, or is it pretty much limited to the presets? I couldn't find an answer to that.

u/Hammithimmis · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Depends on your budget. If you're talking straight up value, the Motospeed wins hands down at that cost. If money is no issue, then go for the Rosewill, which has better switches (Cherry > Outemu).

There are some people who prefer Outemu blue switches over Cherry since the click is slightly louder and lower-pitched, but generally Cherry switches are smoother and higher quality. Outemu are Chinese clones of Cherry switches.

Also, if you plan on gaming, I recommend looking at something like a tenkeyless (TKL) or smaller layout, which is more comfortable and ergonomic for your arms, like [this] (https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboard-GATERON-Magicforce-Qisan/dp/B01J708CCG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1496374475&sr=8-3&keywords=qisan+blue). The Gateron switches in that board are also clones, but on par with Cherry switches.

I think he meant the Magicforce 68.

u/NuclearBreadstick · 1 pointr/buildapc

If you're looking for a budget mech with blue switches, the Magicforce 68 is quite well regarded in available with your choice of Cherry, Gateron, or Outemu blues

u/fox112 · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Yeah it's a pretty sick board

It's got an unusual layout which I'm not a big fan of

Here I'll tempt you with another great starter board https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboard-GATERON-Magicforce-Qisan/dp/B01J708CCG/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_147_tr_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=TE0WDSAE2DTZQVXSBHBJ

I got through all my IB essays with a Magicforce68 with gateron blues, it was pretty good. If loudness is a concern however, you could get one with gateron browns which are more silent at the cost of not feeling as good.

If you're willing to up your budget a bit, you could get the Pok3r which is endgame material for many. It will definitely last a bunch of time and you can buy better cases for it down the line.

Both of those keyboards have media controls accessed through Fn

u/intrepped · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

I wouldn't recommend this. You can get an MF68 with cherry or gateron blues for like $40-$60 and a decent mouse for $40-$50 too. I prefer gateron over cherry because it's smoother, but here's some listing:

MF 68 with G-blues

Logitech G402

Although non-rgb, the quality is more important than the aesthetics in my opinion. Your opinion may be different.

u/noroadsleft · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

The keycap sets look the same to me.

If you can swing it, I'd up the budget a bit and get one of these versions of the first keyboard:
