I used this mattress on the floor, for side laying breastfeeding, every night from about 2 or 3 weeks until he was about 8 weeks, and then off and on when he would have bad witching hours / cluster feeds / needy nights until about 11 weeks.

Not OP, but this is the on I've seen most recommend. There are ones with different heights, but I saw someone suggest getting at least 4-inch thick one for sleeping comfortably. Just make sure to choose the Twin size for Model 3.

Do you have room to store a trifold gel mattress? Like in a cupboard or closet? Because sofa beds are never comfy, and air mattresses make noise, and may not work for taller / larger people. Something like this:
