If anyone's curious, I ended up finding this deal for the Yoshi Remote Plus for $22.84 on Amazon (with free shipping and no tax as it's a new seller). Doesn't arrive until the holidays or later but it's a good deal:

Cheaper than getting Nintendo's refurb normal wiimote + motion plus :) and I like yoshi so it's a win-win
