YOU GUYS!!! I got the memo about this group forming a little late because February has been THE WORST (glad I'm not alone in that) and I'd fallen off the face of the earth in addition to the keto train. I am SO HAPPY. SO. SO. HAPPY. That this group was in my inbox when I finally managed to log back on to Reddit. (Seriously, that's how stupid February has been- not only did I not manage to go to the gym ONCE, but I went like three weeks without even getting on Reddit. REDDIT, people. FFS.)
The past couple weeks have been a miserable frozen hellstorm of job stupidity, car problems, family drama, and poor dietary choices. I've been prioritizing taking care of everyone around me instead of doing smart things for myself, which is a bummer, but tomorrow is a NEW MONTH and I'm drawing a line in the sand. Er, snow, I guess, since the dirt's about four feet buried and I'm sick as F*CK of shoveling snow. I guess the bonus of not having purchased groceries in two weeks is that I don't have to clean out the fridge of sugary processed leftovers?
A couple small SV's so this isn't just a "f*ck everything, I'm back but life is stupid" post: 1. I drunk-purchased some leggings off Amazon for $18 and they're the BOMB (these, if you're curious)- they're way thicker and softer than I'd anticipated, the waist is high enough to contain ye olde muffin toppe, and obviously the pockets are the tits. And surprisingly, they're not at all see-through. 2. I picked up a couple "back-up crew" shifts at rescue over the past few weeks since it's a huge skiing holiday, and was not disappointed; our two ambulances were basically just lapping each other going back and forth between the hospital and the ski hill packed with tourists, and I got to see some really cool injuries. 3. Mixed bag: I got a "fucked up EMT merit badge" when I worked my first cardiac arrest a couple weeks ago. It was the first time I've been on a call where the patient didn't make it, and it was pretty awful because he was local and we all recognized him, but it was really educational from both a medical and professional standpoint. It's cool to know that people in the EMS field see "dead" as sort of a relative term, and we're going to try our damndest to make you less dead.
Anyways. March is a fresh start, I'm back on board, and I'm just so damn happy to have found all you ladies lurking in a new (purpler) corner of the internet. <3 <3 <3
