First, I should say I own the i4. I cannot verify this but I have heard that the i5 is a little more prone to fog than the i4. (Though my i4 has never fogged on me soo.....take that as you will). The two masks are very similiar so I can still help.

1)Yes it is 100% safe for airsoft use. (if it wasnt it wouldnt be allowed on airsoft or paintball fields.

2)The foam technically does not fully enclose the eyes. This is not an issue though, as can be seen in the picture Im adding below, the reason there is a gap in the foam is for the plastic pieces that both connect to the headband and also hold the lens in the helmet. Between this large plastic piece, the large protective ear flaps, the elastic band that would be in the way, and the wearer's ears there is no way that a BB could find its way in to hit your eyes even if someone was shooting from behind you. There is just too much in the way while wearing it. As for BBs going through the mast itself, no, they cannot.

3) and 4) As for glasses, i cant speak to this. I dont wear them.

6)I have only ever played outdoors. (there arent any indoor fields near me). I have played in hot and cold, rain and snow with this mask. and it hasnt fogged.

I use an i4 as well, I didnt have to do any modifications for my helmet. I use an MICH 2002 tactical helmet I got off amazon (ill link below) but a MICH 2001 design should (probably) also work fine . The main difference between the two is the 2002 has a lip at the top which protects the tops of the ears a bit more. You dont have to go with the ones i recommended, most helmets of the MICH 2001 or 2002 design will probably work.

The Pros of using a helmet with a dye mask:

-whole head protection (except for your neck)

-it doesn't fog

-if you play in the rain (i have several times) the helmet works like an umbrella for the dye mask and prevents any water from getting inside. (and keeps your head dry)

-it looks really cool

The Cons:

-It takes a bit of work to get the straps set up first time

-Im currently trying to figure out how to run coms since the dye mask gets in the way a bit

-if your not used to a helmet your head will feel a little bit heavy at first until you get used to it.

-there are no other cons. It's totally worth it.
