First thing I would do is replace the cabin air filter. See how much good that does. If still not happy then use Ozium.

Seconded. I have a dog, and bought a secondhand couch that smelled like smoke. Got a few of these and it took care of it.

You might try a product called Ozium. It comes in gel and spray form. I haven't used it myself, but it was mentioned on another LPT thread to get rid of the cig smoke smell in a car.

Ozium spray is great for a short term fix, but they also make a gel (Amazon link) that is quite good - I leave one in the drawer at work where i keep my gym clothes, its been smelling good for months now.

The spray is strong and unpleasant for the first minute after spraying, but that fades quickly.. just be sure to spray a very small amount, the stuff is super powerful!

Another option is an air purifier, i have this one and it keeps my house smelling fresh while also filtering a lot of dust and dander.

I can't give advice for the insurance portion other than just continuing to pester them about the supplement since it sounds like they are giving you the run around till you give up but I'm guessing the dealer can't get in touch with the adjuster just like you.

What likely happened is when the mold developed it got trapped in your vents and since the shop was only paid to clean the carpet, thats all they did. So what I would suggest is finding somewhere local that rents ozone machines and stick one in your car for a day or two. Here is one in Houston from a quick search. At my old job we had one for apartments that were flooded or smoked in and we used it in my friends car once after he had a pound of rotting meat under his seat for a week in the Texas summer (long story) and it got that smell out completely. Also, pick up one of these kits and use it, then replace your cabin air filter which should cost no more than $20 and is pretty easy to do. That should pretty much eliminate all the likely sources of the smell, at least enough to sell it. If the smell still lingers a little I would also put one of these in your car too and maybe stash it somewhere out of sight so if you do go to sell it, it won't be found during the inspection. Try their spray too, that stuff worked wonders and was always a life saver back in my high school pot smoking days.

I second that emotion. I put this in my car a month ago, and every time I get in, it smells lovely. (Smelled like an ashtray in there before) http://www.amazon.com/Ozium-Eliminator-Office-Freshener-Original/dp/B008XNZZ7O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426102311&sr=8-1&keywords=ozium+car

Hey guys! I've been using Adam's Invisible Undercarriage spray to keep my wheel wells black, but was wondering if you guys had a better alternative. I searched the subreddit and it doesn't seem like anyone has asked this specific question (they are usually about how to clean the wheel-well and not about keeping them black). The few other times, people have commented that they used the undercarriage spray (which is what I'm trying to move away from).

Additionally, I was wondering if you guys could let me know what you use to remove odors in your car? I don't smoke or anything in my new car, but as we all know, detailers like to keep everything in as perfect condition as possible. I've heard of people using the following:

Ozium gel

CG Stripper Scent

Ozium Air Sanitizer (which actually makes me gag/cough

CG Bare Bones - seen this recommended, but am iffy about CG as a company

Lastly, this is kind of a random question, but do you guys turn off your AC a few minutes before you turn off your car to dry the radiator and prevent mildew/mold from growing? I know people used to do this in the past with older cars, but wasn't sure if it was still a thing. It definitely seems a bit overboard.

I have a bunch of activated charcoal bags in my car already as well.

Blowing smoke towards it would probably help, but as long as the room is sealed it won't be a problem. I had one setup in my grow tent and I would just blow smoke into it for it to filter it. As far as effectiveness goes, it will leave the room without lingering smokiness. It will fully neutralize everything within 2 hours for sure.

For added security you can throw in some smoke absorbing Ozium to place in your room that will also pick up smoke as well as deodorize the room. https://www.amazon.com/Ozium-Eliminator-Office-Freshener-Original/dp/B008XNZZ7O
