Like most sensible people, I agree that multi-bit screwdrivers generally suck. However, I have found one that I like:

It's got real heft to it, the tips are well designed, and rated for power tool use. At 3 inches, they can be quite a bit more useful than the cheap driver tips that come with drills or drill bit sets. The middle part acts as a hex driver when no tip is inserted and it's also magnetic for picking up screws. The only improvement I'd make is I'd replace the robertson (square) bit with a second and larger torx bit. In fact, you can buy the bits separately and do just that if you like.
