Good tip, admit I didn't think of that when I shopped for mine, basing my choice (for better or worse) on which interfered less with gripping the remote.

Instead of an angled bar, there's two domed protrusions which shouldn't catch on anything, and (theoretically spread out the impact force to a wider area.)
EDIT: I went down last week, and they definitely slid. Hamburger'd my knee and elbow, but even though my wrist took much of the fall, it's absolutely fine, not even sore. And sorry, /u/heroism777, I didn't take the time to plan my fall. As tends to be the case with accidents, in the milliseconds it took the event to unfold, there was not time to do so. ;)
