I get what you're saying about support from third parties, but this is an innovative & groundbreaking electronic device, which has never been seen before, and currently has no competition.

We're just now passing the 'innovator' phase of this adoption curve, and breaking into the 'early adopter' phase. It makes perfect sense for something like this to cost $600. I mean, come on. Look at this 55-inch TV (a technology that has existed for decades, granted a more advanced version of it), and it's double the price. Do you think the Rift will provide a better entertainment experience than this 55-inch TV?
