These "in-nose" filters are an option. They do help my severe pollen allergies, but you have to get them to fit right + breathe through your nose, of course.

I used a mask! It worked much better than a bandana, however it's not practical to have on at all times. Someone last year, posted a link to these nasil filter thingys that go inside your nose comfortably. I'll try to find them.
