Seeing as a 980 ti can run on a 500W those specs are a little fudged to make up for poor quality power supplies like this.

A full system with a i5/970 will pull around 300W under load depending on the specific models of the CPU/GPU/other hardware.

Big fan of the fluffy cat. Not so much the power supply, it's shit. Doesn't even have a 80+ rating of any kind. Get something different asap. Just read some of the Amazon reviews on it.

Do not skimp out on a power supply. It is the one component that, upon death, can take any (or all) other components in the PC with you. And there is really no excuse, as you can get good power supplies for like 30$.

I'm looking at around a $60 expenditure

Should I just buy a higher watt PSU then? I've been looking at a Senty Xplus PSU that is 725w, but due to my pre included PSU not having any labels on it's PSU, I can't tell what wattage it is. Thanks

try for something like this it doesnt have to be this as it is extremely overkill but i believe it is on sale. modular/semi modular would benefit you as the case doesnt seem to have much space to store cables so if you have less cables to hide its good.

this will leave you 155. for a gpu, try this which will leave you with 50 bucks to pick up ram. get this if you can, call up PC Planet and ask for exact specs of the i3 and the copy of windows. ask if the windows is 64bit.

best of luck!

Well, I need to get a new mobo, since mine is faulty.
Also, the main thing that would even save money is using the old i7-2600 which is on LGA1155. Can I just get an outdated mobo?

Will this one work?

I have a sentey 725w psu that worked fine in my old i7 2600 and gtx1080. https://www.amazon.com/Sentey-XPP725-HS-Computer-Desktop-Bearing/dp/B00SN6VN7W

You would need something capable of about 8.4 volts and 25 - 30 amps.I think easier and a bit cheaper for mods like the dna200, 12 volt high end pc power supply....

Still not very practical.....
This might do the job for a dual 18650 mods....

Adjusts down to 9 volts 25 amps... expensive and not practical....

I have an NVidia GT 630, and my Motherboard is the Asus CM6330. My concerns are the following:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487077

Should I invest in this GTX970 right now, or wait for the GTX1070? I don't play that many intensive games, but when I do, I want to play them at decent quality. The GT630 is awful for that. Is it worth it to spend the $80 more? Is it probable that I'll even get the card right away in June, considering the number of people preordering and getting the card?

I'm sold on that SSD.

I'm sold on that mid tower. It looks sleek, and it seems to have enough ports for everything I need. Concern: is it big enough for the GTX970 / 1070? I'm almost certain it is, but would love confirmation.

I'm hesitant with the power supply. That power supply is on sale for $45 with Amazon Prime, from $100. In the event that I want to add more parts to my rig, it would be nice to have the extra wattage to be safe. But should I just go with an EVGA 500W 80+ PSU? Or is this one perfectly fine? Which is best for the case I provided?

----
Taken verbatim from my older post. Is the SuperNOVA 550 GS from EVGA good? And I'm wholly aware that I'm bottlenecking because of my CPU; however, I plan to upgrade it extremely soon after this first set of upgrades. So, basically, this will get my build set up to run pretty well right now, and then I'll get it to full potential soon. I'll definitely see a difference between a GT 630 w/o SSD and a GTX 1070 w/ SSD.
