The GPU is quite old and slow, it will not perform well in most modern games. (Maybe some at 720p).

However, it's still a great price, that 2nd gen(?) i5 + overclockable motherboard alone are worth more than $75. I'd suggest upgrading the GPU to something like an RX 570 which will turn this into a solid 1080p high settings gaming PC.

EDIT: BTW, that M.2 Crucial SSD is not directly compatible with this system, you would need to also purchase a PCIe Adapter card. Alternatively you could return it for the 2.5" model which is the same speed and similar price.

Silverstone ecm20 and a sata cable from your junkpile. follow the sata cable from the dvd drive to the motherboard and there is an open port you can plug into.

I bought one weeks ago and the coupon didn't work but $50 was still cheap to me. Am using it now with an adapter from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01798WOJ0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

This exists, ouch:

We just use a desktop and an adapter card for M.2 data transfer. This one's nice because it support sata and NVME: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01798WOJ0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Your Motherboard doesn't have an M.2 slot, apparently.
You can still use one, but will require a PCI-e adaptor.
If it's just for games, I'd recommend just using a normal SATA one.
(Less complicated - and I don't believe you'd see much performance difference).

I got this one personally for my Intel 600p

Can also run dual drives although I think one of them will have to be off sata. This will plug into a 16x slot on your motherboard. Also for the second drive I think you'd need the sata cable plugged in not sure.

Here you go mate. this one has two m.2, one for ssd and one for nvme. Ive been making a video on NVme and picked one of these up to test. works a treat, but you have to use an x4 slot with the mode set to x4 in the bios otherwise it'll cull the speed.

To add to what /u/krista_ said. If you only need 1:1 duplication I really don't see a huge benefit to using an external duplicator aside from ease of use. You could easily rig your own by getting 2 of these adapters (since they support both sata and PCIe M.2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01798WOJ0 and install a linux LiveCD to a usb drive (make sure the distro you use allows root access when running the live disk). Most disk duplicators are embedded systems that probably just run linux and/or use something very similar to dd to copy your disk bit by bit to the destination drive(s).

Once you boot in open the terminal and enter sudo fdisk -l to get the device IDs, pick out the 2 you'll want to copy, verify which is which, and begin the transfer with dd.

sudo dd -if=(SOURCE DEVICE) of=(DESTINATION DEVICE) bs=1M conv=noerror

ex. sudo dd if=/dev/sdb of=/dev/sdc bs=1M conv=noerror will clone 1 drive directly to the other sdb -> sdc

NOTE: It's extremely important the drives are not mounted or active, otherwise dd will not produce a perfect copy. Also be extremely careful and make sure you have the correct source drive selected, if you screw this up you can destroy your data.

You can also duplicate 1 disk to multiple drives simultaneously using dd, you will obviously need more adapters though. http://superuser.com/questions/145516/cloning-single-disk-drive-to-multiple-drives-simultaneously

This is what I use because my board didn't do 4x PCIe on the m.2 slot.

u/DZCreeper · 1 pointr/buildapc

You need a x4 slot for running a m.2 drive.

Yes, your GPU will run a bit hotter.

u/Emerald_Flame · 1 pointr/buildapc

You can plug it into a normal PCIe slot using an adapter like this: https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-Technology-PCI-E-Adapter-ECM20/dp/B01798WOJ0

Okay actually i found a cheaper one out of curiosity so heres this instead, but they'd both do the job. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01798WOJ0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_omi8CbB956WZY?th=1&psc=1

I'm currently using this. It has a slot for pcie based m.2 ssd's as well as a slot for SATA based m.2 ssd's.

u/Commander_Spongebob · 1 pointr/techsupport

There are SSDs in PCIe format, like this one or, as m.2 form factor is more common these days, adapters for PCIe card to m.2.

But the problem is that you only have a PCIe 2.0 1x slot, so you only have a theoretical maximum throughput of 500 MB/s, so it is not worth spending a lot of money on a PCIe based ssd capable of 3.5 GB/s if the PCIe slot is a bottleneck. A good SATA SSD should also give you this speed for less money.

As a follow up question, has anyone used a m.2 or pcie sata adpater in one of their servers? link link

Well going from a USB 2.0 to 3.o won't make a difference as far as the USB capabilities go. Some wifi dongles are better than others but 2.0 speeds are more than capable of handling wifi bandwidth. I don't know of any cards that have both wifi and bluetooth together. What I would look at is this. It was 2 m.2 ports on it and you should be able to put a wifi adapter and a bluetooth adapter on that card. Best of luck.

Why not just use: https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-Technology-Dual-Adapter-ECM20/dp/B01798WOJ0

$20 and works great. I mean the heatsink looks cool but $55 cool? ..meh
