I got the insert from Amazon, it will fit the Aegis and Outside The Wire series glasses. For the lenses I just took the insert to the optometrist where I got my prescription glasses and had them make lenses for the insert.

You can get the smith Ageis and get the prescription inserts, and have regular lenses put in those.
I'm not sure who you talked to, but if they were from smith they did a terrible job of explaining their product. The safety lens is polycarbonate and cant be shaped to a prescription. You have to use the inserts. I've been doing this research myself because I am thinking about inserts for when I don't want to wear contacts.
