Adaptators exist to plug in DVI on HDMI ports, like this one. HDMI male to DVI female. Same exists for Display Port to DVI.

Oh, well take out the drives and RAM from the build, and buy 2x8GB of RAM, these ones for instance but any 1600mhz should do just fine as it is the max a stock speed core i7 will need. The build will be about $90 cheaper. If you double them for 32GB, you'll be around $1150 total.

it is odd it knocks out the laptop display when connected, if it only shows the mouse cursor but no display, it must be the video connection that's at fault. I assume the switch on the wacom box is set to dvi?

i'd like to know what cable it is that you are using, on page 13 of the manual it shows the dvi connection on the back of the wacom box.

on the hdmi-dvi cable, does it have the extra pins on the side as the dvi-i cable or does it look like dvi-d? the wacom box shows a dvi-i connector. dvi cables are shown on page 12

Update!

looking further into your problem, it looks like it is better to use the dvi cable they provided and use an adapter that is hdmi to dvi (female) and connect the provided dvi cable into it and other end in to the wacom box.

searching the questions for wacom brought up this

Q: I have a wacom cintiq 12wx - will this connect that dvi to the hdmi port on my mbp and work?A: Hi,

Using our HDDVIMF8IN to go from a HDMI source to the Wacom Cintiq 12WX should work for you.

So I'm assuming you have two dvi monitors. If the card you are looking at has HDMI, then try this adapter. If it has DisplayPort try this adapter.

Please note that the HDMI to DVI adapter that I linked is only compatible the digital version of DVI. The DisplayPort to DVI adapter that I linked is compatible with both analog and digital signals. You can find HDMI to DVI adapters that support both versions, but I did not link one of those.

Yea, the problem was there before I added rotate=2. I have tried using both an HDMI to DVI cable (no adapter) ..and also tried using this adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009YCASUW/ . Same result

Maybe you could get a HDMI/DP -> DVI adapter or cable? Something like this.

Thanks! So here's what I found MSI GAMING Radeon RX 480 GDDR5 4GB CrossFire VR Ready FinFET DirectX 12 Graphics Card (RX 480 ARMOR 4G OC) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M368YOU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_iMWxybDGCZR5G

And regarding an adapter: StarTech.com 8in HDMI to DVI-D Video Cable Adapter - HDMI Male to DVI Female - HDMI to DVI Dongle Adapter Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009YCASUW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_O0WxybSPVKC55

Look good?

If you're third monitor can do DVI then I would suggest a DVI female to HDMI male adapter such as This Adapter

u/HIFKi95 · 1 pointr/techsupport

i suggest rather than buying same performing gpu, a hdmi to dvi adapter :)
