I can tell you there is a considerable mark up, however it's not quite as big as you might think.

Yes we profit off of them, probably more than we really need to. They do have a full 5 year warranty, which is considerable bearing in mind most come with 0.

On the "better" pillows, your not just paying for memory foam which is dirt cheap, your normally paying or the specialized gel they put ontop of the pillow. Which is cooling and very comfortable.

Take this bad boy for example, this is what I spent my money on. It's queen sized, and look at both how much the pillow is covered, and how thick the gel layer acutally is. This fucker is HEAVY.

The feel for me personally was divine, as a side sleeper a thick pillow sucks ass. I feel like the pillow is eating me. This is thin enough to be comfortable, and still nice and medium for firmness so I sink, but not to much. The gel provides me with the squishy feeling that I personally enjoy, and cool my hot head down nicely. I can feel it clearly through my pillowcase. (I remove their fleecy case, and just put the pillow straight into a pillowcase)

I am paying a premium, nearly $200 for a pillow. This pillow will last me at least 5-10 years. Verses people bitching about constantly having to buy those $10-20 pillows we offer, every 3-6 months, because they wear down and no longer do anything useful.

Math time. Let's say they spend on average $30 every 3 months on pillows. That would mean they spend $30, 4 times a year.

30 x 4 = $120 a year on pillows. (this is assuming they're not spending more for kids and such) So after 1.5 years they could have bought my pillow.

Verses me spending $180 outright, and not buying anything else for the next 5 years.

The math is clear on this stuff.
