You can use one of these adapters safely if you have a 20A straight (regular) receptacle handy. Which is increasingly common in new construction but not common in older construction.

I'll try this again since it looks like the link I originally used included some referral crap. I think the link below should be ok since it's the same scheme as above.

I initially used that same power whip to plug in my first AP7901 into a regular wall outlet to both mess around with controlling it SNMP and as a place to plug in some test gear sitting the small rack next to my desk. I was't too concerned about it exceeding 15a for what I was using it for. After I acquired a 30a 2u APC and an AP7930 (20a 0U PDU) unit for the stuff in the basement. I was less comfortable using that whip to since it technically rated for 15a while the UPS outlet is 20a. If you are looking to keep everything on the up and up, I eventually found a proper 20a whip.

Look for a 20A "monitored" PDU. Here's one: https://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-PDU20MT8FNET-Monitored-100-120V-Rackmount/dp/B005TXZ0T4/ You probably aren't going to find it more compact than that unfortunately. You will also need a new receptacle or adapter like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VHAQ2Y/

If you have a 20amp outlet get one of these. It will convert it to a standard 20amp plug (NEMA 5-20P)
