I've had success with both of these devices:

Choetech USB-C 6-in-1

MECO USB-C 7-in-1

The MECO has a better looking metallic finish and rubber stoppers on the bottom, so it stays in place better. It also allows for USB-C passthrough, so if you use it with a laptop with just one USB-C port (like my Surface Book 2), you can still attach other USB-C devices. The Choetech also has a USB-C port, but that's only for USB-PD (power) passthrough, not data, which means it's fine for the phone situation (so you can still charge your phone while you have it docked without having to resort to wireless power) or for devices like the "new" MacBook, where you only have one USB-C port and still want power.

Either way, the MECO is the better buy since it offers the option of full size SD card and/or MicroSD as well as the USB-C data passthrough at a slightly low price than the Choetech.

It charges, but running peripherals can be problematic. Both the type of power and hub can lead to misc problems. Some hubs break touchscreen support. Some hubs have a usb-c port that is either PD or DP alt mode only. Etc. That's why I'm asking... I would like to charge my phone, power my touchscreen monitor, not lose touch functionality, and be able to plug in any usb adaptors I may need. This seems very specific to the type of adaptor you use. I'll post 2 examples below since I've been searching since I posted this question... But I still haven't found a perfect hub. These both lack what I'm looking for it seems, but they come close.
