I use a polycro liner like what would be used to weather-proof windows. Just like [this one] (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00004YSVU/).
It's super cheap and super lightweight. But, it's main issue is durability. You have to make sure you remove slicks and rocks which may put a hole in the liner.
For more durability, look for tyvek. It's a bit bulkier and heavier than polycro (only an issue if you are counting ounces) but is much more durable.
Sizing these is a bit tricky. I went a bit bigger (few inches) than the tent footprint and roll back the edges when I camp so nothing sticks out from under the tent. This is very important so water doesn't catch on the liner and pool under the tent!
