So I've managed to fix it, would appear the new update meant my amazon 2.0 basic cable and switch no longer worked for 4k.
New switch and a different cable and everythings running through the switch for PS4, XBX and Nin Switch, connected to 1080 monitor and 4k tv. All runs at max res for all, very happy once again.
Now I just need to wait for the days of no wires...
