Boo_hiss is probably right but if the machine has a couple of 1/4" threaded holes in the bottom, it can be mounted. Whether it would fit in a vintage cabinet depends on the depth of the cabinet. I got a vintage cabinet to put my serger in but the serger is way too fat to make the swing so I just sit it on top for now while I plot my solution. What I would love to do is use one of these lift mechanisms but its too pricey for me. http://smile.amazon.com/Rockler-Sewing-Machine-Lift-Mechanism/dp/B001DT579Q/ref=pd_sbs_hg_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0S1CR7BFD8EDJNYTB4PQ
Let us know if you come up with anything, I'm sure lots of people would love it.
I bought this one just because of that reason (I have 2 machines and they are different sizes so I went without the drop down space). I highly recommend it! With the leaf open it gives me a long sturdy space to cut fabric and I love how it closes up nice and neat. I think it comes in a couple different finishes (darker cherry and white, besides this one) but I liked the warmer wood. I've had it for probably close to 8 years now and still love it!

My advice will ALWAYS be to get a stand that can be used with any frame style. There are stands that use a clamping system so you can use them with scroll frames, qsnaps, regular embroidery hoops, and stretcher bar frames. There are also some stands that are designed for one frame style but can be converted to work with other frame styles. This way you can use the stand with any frames/hoops you already have instead of needing to purchase an entirely new system in addition to the expense of the stand.
The Lowery stand is a mid-range/mid-priced one that is fairly popular although can be annoying to get in the US (as seen by the fact that it is currently unavailable). (I'm not sure how difficult it is to order in EU). Cheaper stands include the Edmund's universal stand and the Michael's store brand version of it. Personally I have the Michael's version and while I do plan on upgrading (most likely to the Lowery or something similar) at some point the Michael's one works ok for now. It can't handle the heavier frames (17 inch qsnap, 24inch scroll frame) but it works ok for the smaller sizes and I have a table-top/lap stand I can use if I want to use the larger scroll frames. I did wind up replacing the bolts because they all stripped out within the first 6ish months. I would not claim that this is a quality stand that will last for a long time however it is a fairly cheap stand that can get you by until you can afford a better quality one or decide you would rather not use a stand. One note I will make is that if you decide to try the Michael's stand try to wait until you have a 50% or better coupon that you can use for it.
Okay. Because most kits aren't that expensive.
Option 1 $56.88
Option 2 $15.00
[Option 3] (https://www.amazon.com/Dritz-Sewing-Basket-Artsiga-Crafts/dp/B01M1GMHYS/ref=sr_1_28?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1481323600&sr=1-28&keywords=sewing+basket+kit) $36.42
[Option 4] (http://www.joann.com/singer-professional-series-sew-kit/10960656.html) $29.99
[Option 5] (http://www.jcpenney.com/michley-fs-096-sewing-basket-with-41-pc-sewing-kit/prod.jump?ppId=pp5007060067) $47.99
These are all kits, that come with the accessories. But, it doesn't hurt to have extra thread, needles, pins, etc. I lose everything somehow. Even with a basket. -_-
[Option 6] (https://www.etsy.com/listing/469445486/sewing-storage-box-ready-to-ship?ref=shop_home_active_2) $55.00
This one is just a box, but I actually think it's pretty cute.
It looks like the type that had a lift inside. Is the lift still there? If not, you can buy one. Here's one on Amazon, but if you look around, you may be able to find one for a better price: http://www.amazon.com/Rockler-Sewing-Machine-Lift-Mechanism/dp/B001DT579Q You're also going to want to look for a "sewing machine insert" for your model. Often they're made of some sort of plexiglass and fit around the machine to give you a flat surface even with the table when your machine is in the upper position on a lift.
If you're space challenged, I highly suggest something like this:

Here is the mat:

Joanne's sells them and I believe you can use coupons for them as well. They also sell a cutting mat that fits exactly the size of the top. I bought one for my dual purpose sewing/guest room (I also have a murphy bed in my spare room). Really nice to have something that folds away when guests come over. I then slide the cutting mat under the murphy bed or behind the dresser.
My wife loves her table and part of the reason she was cool with it being set up all the time (besides being easy to use) is that there's still plenty of room next to it for the full cutting mat so the machine stays out of the way for that stuff. They make lift mechanisms (https://www.amazon.com/Horn-of-America-Machine-Mechanism/dp/B001DT579Q) but they're not super cheap if you want to go that route.
I love my Lowery. It's so well made and will last forever. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074JFJHH2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I needed a stand that would be next to me, not in front, for when I was stitching in my comfy chair or in bed, and this works so well. Easy to flip, works with q-snaps (and everything else), can buy attachments if you want, and there's a $20 ipad holder that you can clamp to the stand.
Most stitchers need the extension bar to make the arm longer, but I don't need one for my setup.
