(Part 2) Reddit mentions: The best smartwatch screen protectors

Looks like it's just me and you who like cases 😱. I also just ordered these a couple days ago and they just came today. I wanted something that isn't a super shiny reflective clear color and also not super shiny black. This set looks to have a gray color.

I've only had it for a couple hours, but I like it so far. It's comfortable and easy to put on (even though you have to take off the bands first). They are pretty thin actually and fit very tightly and closely to the watch.

The clear case isn't as shiny and reflective, but it still is shiny and reflective as the Fintie cases that I linked earlier.

I like the gray case a lot so far. I think it matches pretty well with my space gray watch. It's still reflects light a little bit and is a tiny bit shiny at times, so it's not perfect. But it's a lot better than the clear case.

I just purchased two different sizes: 37MM & 36MM based on a comment left a week ago or so left on this subreddit (If you search on the search bar above) recommending the 37MM. 37MM is what they recommended but the seller also had 36MM available. I will receive them tomorrow evening and have a better idea which to recommend. Because they were both Amazon Prime, I will be able to return the one I don't use. I am also located in Toronto so I assume Amazon.ca isn't that much different than Amazon.com.

Is there a way to wrap it with something like an ace bandage or a pad of some kind - maybe a youth elbow pad.

I can totally imagine wanting to capture the training stats from a game - that would be very interesting!

I bought these from Amazon 3 months ago and they work great! They go all around the watch face, but you have to take it off to charge. I bought the variety pack so I can coordinate the case with my outfit, but I've ended up using the gold case all the time. They're easy to clean and make it look a little more stylish than a black smart watch.

Yes, my first one I bought from amazon for maybe $8 or $10, but my second one from an app called “Wish” they are from vendors from China so will take “Weeks” to get here. You can get one for less then $2. Make sure you check how much they charge for shipping, cause lots of times that’s where they get you.

My suggestion is get one from Amazon now, since you need something to protect you watch right away, then take you time and look for something you like from Wish, since they will take Weeks to get to you.

IQ Shield is pretty good. They are flexible TPU film and are just fine if you just want a screen protector. Not sure of any glass ones since the GWA has a slightly concave screen.

These are a full protector made of TPU that covers the face and body. They've done me pretty well over the past month or so. You may have to take it off periodically and clean it since it can trap sweat, but that's pretty easy.

Do you just want to protect the screen or the overall watch face?

I got these to protect the whole watch face and absolutely love them. My protector screen is certainly a bit dinged up but my watch is in perfect condition.

Also... my klutzy self recommends you get AppleCare, and then double down and get some kind of protective case. I am using this one and so far (over a month later), it’s working well, looking good, and has been well worth the money.

I'm happy with it. I'm not sure it's quite as much protection from hard impacts as the glass ones, but I've been using it several months with no issues. Very easy to take on and off for charging/cleaning, or there's a charger that will work with it on.

I've also heard of people using it over a glass screen protector, which would help keep the glass in place. Best of both worlds, but I do wonder what it would do to the responsiveness.

I’ve tried them all:

• film squares, eventually lifts and peels, doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing

• film to the rounded edges, also eventually lifts and peels, changes the feel of the screen to a more sticky and less-smooth finish
  
• snap on polycarbonate shell, interferes with touchscreen sensitivity, gets permanently scuffed, adds glare to screen
  
  Finally ended up with a TPU shell that protects the bumpers and the screen, keeps the Apple Watch slim and in its original look, works with all bands, feels smooth, doesn’t add glare, and doesn’t interfere with the touch screen sensitivity.

I put this one on about two weeks ago and it’s been great so far, it isn’t peeling up and I can’t tell it’s on there unless I look really closely. It actually fits around the curve of the screen so it’s basically undetectable. It’s a pretty good value too, you get six of the little shields.

I ordered this case/screen protector. It hasn't arrived yet so I can't personally say if I like it or not. But according to reviews and pictures, It looks like a pretty slim case that will protect both the screen and the casing of the AWS.

Very protective and visually pretty clean.

It looks like the "wet" application type of protector, which is typical for screens with curved surfaces. Leave it on if it's in good shape. You can always get another...

I put it on about a week ago and no complaints so far. Just make sure to cure it overnight like the directions recommend.

I understand about the existing cases not being waterproof. I use a Smiling brand (https://www.amazon.com/Smiling-Protector-Protective-Definition-Ultra-Thin/dp/B07KLPPP3W) case for my 44mmAWS4, and it’s just about perfect for me (I just changed mine after three months and did not notice any yellowing; just a number of sacrificial scars and generalized scuffing). However, my hazards are dry: grit and road grime thrown up by the front tire on my recumbent trike. I bought a set for my wife to use on her 40mmAWS4, and it does not work well for her because she is a recreational swimmer and it is just too much trouble to either remove the case during her swim time, or remove it afterward to dry the case & the watch.
I am not optimistic that a fully waterproof case can be made for an Apple Watch, without it taking on the bulky form of an underwater housing for a camera ... but I’ll be following this thread in case one does exist.

Check out the Julk case. It covers the watch, doesn't look bad at all, and doesn't inhibit use.

Having already cracked the edge of mine, I wish I'd gone to the dark cased side earlier. The watch and an industrial environment just aren't a good match.

I've found the clear protectors sufficient for my needs.
