So - apologies for the length on this. My wedding is in December, about 150 people, with 7 bridesmaids and groomsmen.

I couldn't capture how truly wonderful these came out. One of my bridesmaids got started on the smaller bouquets and then did my big waterfall bouquet. My fiance helped with the corsages and boutonnieres. The grand total for everything - welcome sign, flowers, centerpieces, all came in under $450 and I'm super proud of finishing it up. I'll try to detail what I can and post links to places where I got flowers if someone asks!

Bridal Bouquet

I cannot take any credit for this - one of my bridesmaids had the vision and rolled with it. We bought peonies ($36), eucalyptus ($40), calla lillies ($40), and roses ($60) on Amazon. The last little bit of wispy flower at the bottom was a last minute buy at Michael's using a 50% coupon for $2.50. The roses are incredibly realistic and the full stems helped fill out the holders.

A florist would have certainly charged more than $400 just for something this size with the peonies. Similarly sized arrangements on Etsy were about $300-$350. And the flowers I bought for this leftover made all of the bridesmaid bouquets and misc arrangements!

Same flowers as the bridal bouquet! We also used a lot of floral tape ($3, coupon), ribbon ($5, after Christmas sale), and floral wire from the stems of roses that I used on the centerpieces.

Corsages and Boutonnieres

These were so easy! I took leaves from the rose a peony bundles, then ordered some extra baby's breath ($13, Amazon). Wrapped with floral tape and some ribbon I got on a 50% sale at Hobby Lobby. My fiance did most of the boutonnieres and he was pretty proud of himself.

Welcome Sign

Got the mirror at a garage sale ($5, what a steal), had Mod Podge and glitter from the centerpieces. Exploring options of getting a friend with nice handwriting to write the welcome message, or buy a decal off of Etsy (<$25). My cat was needy today and wanted to be in every picture :)

This has a lot of details. I first bought the cheap 1-20 wood table numbers on Amazon ($20, I think), the Mod Podge ($8), Fine Glitter ($10, Michael's), and mod podged the crap out of the numbers and layered on the glitter. This took several hours between drying and doing.

We then stumbled upon a $40 deal on Facebook marketplace that included 20 8" vases, 200 Dinopure White Roses, 25 purple fairy lights, various glass stones and beads, and an LED candle set.

I built on this by buying 100 more roses ($40, Amazon), 24x 3" styrofoam balls ($30, Amazon), 2 packs water beads ($15, Amazon), and two colors of the vase mix of floating pearls (Etsy, $40).

I hot glues the roses to the styrofoam balls with enough room for it to still fit on top of the vase. I then wrapped the fairy lights around that, and hot glued the table number to the top.

The water beads and floating pearls are an easy set up. Let the beads swell for a couple hours, pour in the vase and in layers add the beads and stir. Topping off with water gives the floating effect.

This was all enough to make ~18 centerpieces, 1 bridal bouquet, 7 bridesmaids bouquets, 12 boutonnieres, 5 corsages, 1 welcome sign, and we're using leftover flowers, vases, plus running medals (my and my fiance's hobby) to round out the decorations. I already have frames ($35, Micheals on 75% off plus extra 20% off super sale) and shimmer paper that I will DIY print any other signs needed.

Well, my initial idea was that you and your fiancée could find some way to make one of those wax hands (the kind that you can make at fairs and festivals by dipping your hand in wax) for each table with some white or off white wax, in this position. Then, nestle a tea light into the top of each one (maybe connect the tea light with some hot wax?), and surround it with some black rose petals and some purple and white calla lilies. You could also place the hands in these.

Another idea would be to get some of these face masks, cut off the little strings, cut each one a slightly bigger mouth hole, and paint them apricot. Then get some light bulbs, some super glue, and carefully glue a tea light to the top of each light bulb. Rim the inner edge of the mouth holes with super glue, then nestle a light bulb into each one. Place them face up on the tables, lit and surrounded by the aforementioned flower petals and some more tea lights! (you could also get these tea lights instead if you want to spend a little more to keep more with the purple theme)

I hope either of these ideas was at all helpful haha. I know they might be a pain in the butt to make, but I tried to keep with the theme.

And congratulations on the wedding! I hope that everything turns out amazing :)

Maybe you could speak to the manager and put up cute little signs about such as:

Don't take my job away! Leave those plates on the table for me!

Thanks for your courtesy, but please leave dishes on the table. Our counter just doesn't have the space!

If you use pretty paper and font people should respond well to it. A small piece of paper on one of these should do it.

This is just my opinion, but I think it would look better without the napkin underneath. I would add some twine/string around the vases to visually tie the top in with the wood slice on the bottom, like this https://media.brides.com/photos/58a5c1444b4eda2a618dfacf/master/w_767/7.jpg.

I love the idea for the comics but I think your frames are too big for the wood size. It would look more cohesive if you had something shorter/smaller there. I would do small traditional table numbers on the wood slab (like index card size) on short metal stands and place the frame on the back side of the roses. Print the numbers in navy to tie into your color scheme. If you go with just the comics, you could print them in dark blue ink as well. https://www.amazon.com/Gray-Bunny-GB-6792C-Cardholder-Restaurants/dp/B073SFBC1J/ref=sr_1_12?keywords=short+table+number+stands&qid=1564175381&s=gateway&sr=8-12

I don't know what your budget is, but these come out to less than $1 apiece: https://www.amazon.com/Shappy-Number-Holders-Holder-Stands/dp/B07BWLN38L/ref=asc_df_B073W7NFRM/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=216518332985&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14067117815643457597&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1019672&hvtargid=aud-799728744414%3Apla-351162459721&th=1

I'm sure you could get them for pennies if you went through AliExpress or something, provided you have the time. Then you could just get basic stock cards and write the names on them.

Particularly if you go through AliExpress, I'm pretty sure this would end up being cheaper than acrylic or agate.

Sure! I don't have it all together yet, my wedding is out of state so all the pieces are sitting at my parents house. But this is the IKEA watering can with just some tulips in it: http://imgur.com/a/j3Rjz The little white candle holder next to it is also from IKEA and I'll be putting the table numbers in it.
Table numbers: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KFPFLBW/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl_encoding=UTF8&colid=2RFYRRVHGF0BL&coliid=I17MTH2DP6NB7D

And the candles I'm using I purchased here: https://www.koyalwholesale.com/Vintage-Glass-Candle-Holder

I think it should look pretty when it all comes together. Hope this helps!

u/buddy276 · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

just for reference. these are the table numbers we ordered.

We spray painted 1-16 in silver. 17-20 I will need to look for, but I'm pretty sure its buried under all my wedding stuff.

I’d say put a folded place card on top of each item saying “Please don’t place ANY items on this surface”. Until you can get the cones/ spikes in place. Something like these Pack of 100 Place Cards - Small Tent Cards with Gold Foil Border - Perfect for Weddings, Banquets, Events, 2 x 3.5 Inches https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073VG41D6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rcDnDbHEVQSJR

How big are your tables? I wasn't planning on having a seating chart for my 60-70-person wedding reception when we thought we could just run long banquet-style tables down each side of the hall, but now that we know the venue has switched to round tables, we'll probably make a seating chart. My plan is to get tented table numbers like these and then have a table with place cards with each person's name and table number on them, like these. That's an outlay of about $10 to handle seating assignment.

u/Rhllorcoaster · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

We would be getting them in a slate blue shade (like our invites in my earlier post) with copper foil. We have low-sitting holders for the table numbers.

Our only other centerpiece decor is the garland, which will be seeded eucalyptus and some coppery-colored magnolia leaves. The tables are short 8-person rectangular tables, so the garland is only a few feet long. Our style is pretty simple, and I'm not sure if I should go for a simpler table number. Probably something like these.

Thoughts?

I found a few cheaper options on amazon, similar to what you posted or a little different. :)

I ordered these off amazon New Star 12 Pc Table Number Holder Table Card Holder Table Number Stand Place Card Holder 12" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009LQWAUW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_qbE1xbD0WMCX5. They seem sturdy to me! Not flimsy at all, not easy to bend and come to 2.16 a piece. It was a little difficult prying them open to get our table number on there, but I like the way they look. Reception hasn't happened yet.
