Buying a book is not about obtaining a possession, but about securing a portal.

I need this book so that I can share my love of reading more fully with my daughter. I think we would both LOVE this book.

Ellen Hopkins is a really unique author who writes about drug addiction, mental illnesses etc in sort of “poem” form. They’re super easy to ready but highly addicting. Probably written at a young adult level but they hit me really hard when I read them in my early 20’s
impulse is a great place to start
identical is very well written and dives into some intense mental illness
crank (series) is also written in the same style and all about drug addiction

They’re all older and you can probably find them at your local library. They’ll take less than 2 days to read haha

This book is exactly $4.00 if you buy it used! =) It's for my classroom library. My student Chris listed it as his favorite book, so I want to get a copy for our room so other students can read it!

Happy Birthday!

I saw the image and thought, "Chester looks very amused there." Then I thought, "Mike Shinoda still looks really young."

Looked him up, apparently he's 40 now. And his wife wrote a pretty well-received novel (per Amazon reviews).

There's a prime eligible copy of this for $3.83!

I'd love anything on my books list though!

Thank you for the contest!

I'm posting on behalf of my wife, whose new YA book All-American Liars launches on Tuesday! The kindle edition is available for $3.99.

Three teenagers with one goal — to make it through the next two weeks without spilling their secrets.

Tristan’s an ace basketball player who dreams of playing college basketball at UCLA. But a reputation-shattering discovery threatens his future.

Annie’s made a lot of terrible choices lately, and the secrets she’s keeping from Tristan could tear them apart, especially if he finds out about her role in his downfall.

Rich’s only ticket out of their tiny town is the All-American basketball team. All that stands between him and success is the town darling, Tristan …

For these three, making decisions isn’t a slam dunk. If they make the wrong choices, they’ll lose everything.

(side note, I am so proud of her, and after seeing all the hard work she pours in, I am impressed by and respect all of you people who do this!)

You like YA novels, so you might like Valiant. This story features a lot of urban fantasy staples, but the main character experiences homelessness and addiction.

At first I found it a bit frustrating; the ties to the authors other Faerie books were pretty loose, but in retrospect this book is became my favorite of Holly Black's books.

Edit: You don't have to have read any of her other books to make sense of this one.

Valiant by Holly Black. Also Tithe and Ironside by Holly Black.
