Top Reddit comments about Vitamin B8 (Inositol) Supplements:

Hi! I started taking this Inositol about a month ago. I kept track of how I started taking it:

Day 1: 1 tsp (2.9 grams) in the evening
Day 2-3: 1 tsp AM/PM (5.8 grams total)
Day 4-11: 1.5 tsp AM/PM (8.7 grams total)
Day 12-today: 2 tsp AM/PM (11.6 grams)

I am using Inositol to also treat anxiety. Honestly after the first two days of using Inositol, even at the lower dose, I FELT less anxious. I have never felt so calm in my life as I have this last month. I'm also sleeping much better. It's been a relief for me and as you can see I am not quite to the 12-19 grams that is recommended for anxiety/depression.

I am feeling confident about being able to take care of myself and improve my health and a lot of that comes from the calmness that I do believe Inositol has given me.

In addition to Inositol, I also take the Pill, Choline, D-Chiro, and I just started Berberine a few days ago.

I also started a keto diet the same time I started Inositol. The Inositol is not magic for me with weight loss like some women experience. Maybe it's because I am already at a weight that is considered normal. I have lost a few pounds just in the last couple days with tracking calories.

Back to the sleep thing - I don't feel lethargic anymore and I used to all the time. I don't know if that's due to the Inositol or starting the Pill - which is now giving me hormones I haven't felt in a year. (No period on my own in over a year so my Dr. gave me bc)

Give the Inositol a shot. I think you may be pleasantly surprised!

-Low carb
-If you can’t take Metformin then maybe something like this for the anti androgen properties and bonus it’s the right ratio! :
(Myo-Inositol & D-Chiro Inositol Blend | Most Beneficial 40:1 Ratio | PCOS, Hormonal Balance & Healthy Ovarian Function Support for Women | Vitamin B8 | Made in USA (120 Vegetarian Capsules) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HX2DMY8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_i1c8CbBN07BC2)
-if possible...I would avoid birth control like the plague. it can mask the symptoms and when you get off of it it can actually make them worse

Making slow changes makes it so much less overwhelming too! Doing a lot of science-based research also made me feel better. 😊

This is an option on Amazon. Good luck with it!

This is what my wife uses as it's the easiest but I know a lot of women use the powder stuff as well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HX2DMY8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_f2WqDb56C9HNG

I have OCD/ health anxiety and thought about HIV 24/7. Inositol can relieve OCD. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0017OB1LU/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8

Also I had a fungal infection called Tinea Versicolor for years that was resolved quickly by putting head and shoulders on a loofah in the bath.

The capsules were Solaray and the powder is Now.

I take this brand.

can't say for sure it was the inositol or the metformin but my schedule has been on track without birth control for the first time in ~12 years and I have a ton of hair regrowth after a massive post-birth control shed.

This was me for the past year. The only time the pain would stop was during my period. I recently had an ultra sound and no cysts or enlargements we’re found in my ovaries. Which left me baffled. I honestly really would have liked an answer.. even if the answer was bad news.
This pain lasted for a whole year, until recently, I started taking Myo-Inositol & D-Chiro Inositol Blend. It’s a 40:1 ratio. here is the link
It decreased my pain substantially and it’s improving my cycle length. I highly recommend you do your own research on it and see if it could help you too.

I take it; have actually been taking it for a while as part if my “why the fuck not” vitamin regimen, which is ironic given that I may indeed have insulin resistance 🙃

I take this kind: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HX2DMY8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_v4f0CbZ6PMNY4 because it has the D-chiro ratio. You have to take 4 pills to get the full dose (all that I’ve found are like this, unfortunately) so I split it up into 2x/day. I did my own research and started taking it pre-RE #3/clinic #2, and just told them when I had second opinions. Thus far no one has really given a fuck, though that may be in part because no one thought I had any indication for it. I don’t even know that you’d need to “ask” if you can take it as it’s a well-researched supplement with no side effects as far as I can tell.

While also recommending therapy as the #1 go to here, I would also like to toss out a suggestion for a supplement that helped to blunt my panic attacks, inositol, which has been shown to have anti-anxiety effects at higher doses. It doesn't make them go completely away for me, but it blunts them enough to the point where my rational brain can override the panic signal.

On the downside, it's not particularly good for spontaneous sex, as (in my experience) you need to take it about 30 minutes before you might find yourself having an attack, as it takes a bit of time to kick in, but the effect lasts (for me) for about three hours, so you have a bit of leeway.
