If you're intimidated by these brackets, there are several other types you could use. Some are made to be adjustable in depth, which requires the top bar to be a separate piece. That piece can be turned to the side when mounting.

There are also brackets that extend well above and below the rod itself, so the screw holes are more accessible.
Take a trip to Lowes or Home Depot and find a bracket you like better.
Also, as someone else posted, you don't need the plastic anchors if you're screwing into wood. If, however, you're screwing into drywall, be sure the anchors are strong enough for your needs. The anchors supplied with the brackets may not be sufficient if you're hanging very heavy curtains, or you have a cat (or child) that likes to climb.
since you said there isnt a wall behind your setup i recommend ceiling mounted curtain mounts. below is an example of one. hope this helps.

Curtain rod brackets, Just over a dollar a piece. I mounted them sideways and kept my sensors in their original stands and hung them upside down on the curtain brackets so the base of the camera stands sits on top of the brackets and the sensor hangs below.
I think you can get these little attachments that clip on the blinds that allow you put a curtain rod

for the lazy
Lots of potential!
If I were you, I would prioritize curtains and youtubing how to remove the miniblinds. I hate them so much. Take a look at at these, for drilling-free installation: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MUN5M6Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
I also heavily suggest that you think about framing those flags, or else taking them down entirely. It’s a tough look, as-is, I’m sorry to say.
