Glove. Cheap and reliable.

Tip Tool. Best tip tool I've ever used, and I think I've tried just about all of them. Bowtie is good too, and would definitely be my 2nd choice.

There are sort of two types of gloves out there.

There's super cheap, made in china, 10-for-a-dollar gloves that are very thin, basically disposable. Then there are some high-end, fancy, serious gloves with velcro straps and padding and of course logos.

You probably want the cheaper ones. They get the job done, but they're thinner. They wear out faster, but you'd be putting a different kind of wear and tear on them so maybe it won't be so bad.

They don't fit great, at all. So if being able to e.g. pinch the string is important, you probably want fingerless gloves. But it's more like $20 instead of $1. https://www.seyberts.com/assorted-billiard-gloves

I had this problem with every glove I tired, except one.

I bought it out of frustration with the more expensive brands and it's worked much better than expected. I got it cheap thinking I'm ok wasting 15$ or so every few months but I'm around 4 months with it and no issues at all. Highly recommend it.

I'm sure it'll tear soon enough and I won't hesitate to buy another.

I use these - super cheap & do the job fine. I ended up cutting the fingertips because I have super-long fingers.

I'm not a huge fan of five-fingered gloves, personally. However, the only other options on YYE are at least $9. If price is not a huge factor, I really liked my duncan glove ($11). They don't last forever, though. These pool gloves from amazon are MUCH cheaper. The seams are a bit thicker, which could be a huge downside. I don't mind it much though, especially for 4a.

Palms exposed and middle finger protected from string.
