/u/wopstradamaus - you can save yourself some money and get a lot more bang for your buck with the URSA Mini Pro. It will cost you about the same as the FS5 (and a lot less than the FS7) - but with the UMP you won't need an external recorder or [expensive firmware upgrade] (https://www.amazon.ca/Sony-FS-RAW-Upgrade-License/dp/B01JR4WKY8//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=hybrcamerevo-20) for RAW.

Here's the setup I recommend (all prices in CAD):

Man, you'd think they would have addressed that back in the day, like those big Nikon 300's with the 30mm filter slot towards the rear.

The only things I can think of:

Does that integrated hood come off in any way?

You could look into a cinema-style matte box setup with 4x4 (100mm) filters - but the filters themselves might be even more $$ thank the Cokin-style stuff (though the Chinese Cokin knockoffs on eBay are pretty inexpensive. I've tried Chinese 4x4's on my cinema rig, and found they're fine for sharpness and rendering, but as you get into heavier grades of ND there can be color casts). A matte box like that requires a 15mm rod setup, but those have gotten much cheaper these days.

One good thing about the 4x4 is you can build up a collection used of good quality like Tiffens if you're patient. Even though it's a video/cinema rig, I've used it with my RB. Don't know if it would work on a lens that wide without vignetting though.

One other thought would be: I bet there's a dozen guys on APUG who've shot with that lens for a decade or more - might ask over there.

I bought this neat little clip on lens kit from Aukey that has a 15x zoom macro lens. Got some cool pictures of a TINY jumping spider. The green thing he's sitting on is a 1/4" diameter plant stake.

This is the lens kit I bought: http://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-iPhone-Fisheye-Android-Smartphones/dp/B01AYY835U

The OIS kinda freaks out when you try to use the fisheye lens. The wide angle lens works pretty well and the macro lens works great especially if you use manual focus. You have to get REALLY close (<1") to what you're taking a picture of though.

Could always slap on a matte box and call it a day.
