I'M IN :D And I've already got ideas c: Gonna start on this c:

EDIT: I meant to edit this.. Not reply. ._.

  1. Something that is grey.
  2. Something reminiscent of rain. This is rain because when you drop a bunch of them, it has the soothing sound of gentle rain c: (Craft WL)
  3. Something food related that is unusual. How are pumpkin pudding flavored Kit Kats NOT unusual? (Food WL)
  4. Something on your list that is for someone other than yourself. Tell me who it's for and why. (Yes, pets count!) This would be for my dad!! I want to make him a cake for his birthday with this wonderful topper! He just loves golf. He goes about 3 times a week ._. (Baking Stuff WL)
  5. A book I should read! I am an avid reader, so take your best shot and tell me why I need to read it! I haven't read this yet. But.. we should read it at the same time. 'Cause I love talking about books with everyone c: AND. It's about a clash between men and women. A guy who's from a time where women are obedient and a women who's from a time where they go unquestioned and praised. Aaaaaaaaaand... FIGHT! (Books WL)
  6. An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related!
  7. Something related to cats. I love cats! (keep this SFW, you know who you are...) Cateye glasses c: ORRRRRRR feathers because I've seen cats attacking birds or walking around with a feather in its mouth COUNTLESS times c: (Both from my Craft WL)
  8. Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it. Shoe laces that don't tie aren't useful.. But shoe laces that don't tie AND LIGHT UP are beautiful c: And I would love to have them so my appearance at night will be FABULOUS. (Cutes! WL)
  9. A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life. Why?
  10. Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. Explain. You can make fake brains! It'll only be good enough to distract them for a moment, but that moment could be what saves you!!! (Baking Stuff WL)
  11. Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals. This would allow me to easily carry a white board surface with me anywhere. I am a math tutor and an aspiring math professor, so being able to have a handy white board surface would be lovely. ORRRRRR this for a more playful goal. My friends and I seem to have the craziest conversations and strangest encounters while we're playing together. This would be a fun way to get our stuff recorded and FAMOUS. loljk. We just wanna share the insanity c: (white board from School Stuff WL and Elgato capture from Dreams WL)
  12. One of those pesky Add-On items. I just want mochi.. ;~; (Food WL)
  13. The most expensive thing on your list. Your dream item. Why? This is my current dream item. I'm attending college. My laptop is a dinosaur and it weighs a ton. It works fine, so I'm not looking to get rid of it. But I need something that won't break my already breaking back when I bring it to school. I spend a lot of time on campus doing homework or just relaxing. This Chromebook has a great battery life and is a good price for what I need to get done. (Dreams WL)
  14. Something bigger than a bread box. I'm going to assume this is bigger than a bread box because of the amount of candy in it.. (Food WL)
  15. Something smaller than a golf ball. Sugar pearls are smaller than golf balls c: (Baking Stuff WL)
  16. Something that smells wonderful. It may be too strong by itself.. But add it into some yummies and it'll smell DELICIOUS. c: (Baking Stuff WL)
  17. A (SFW) toy. It's SFW as long as you aren't screaming, "FUCK" or bludgeoning a person to death with it out of frustration c: (Cubes WL)
  18. Something that would be helpful for going back to school. I'm a math major and the majority of my math is done on white boards I have mounted in my room. There is no such thing as too many expo markers for me lol (School Stuff WL)
  19. Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be. Chain maille jewelry! :D I've only started with it :c (Crafts WL)
  20. Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand. It's a 3D DINOSAUR COOKIE CUTTER. You can make dinosaur cookies!!! THAT STAND. YOU CAN MAKE STOP MOTION DINO WARS. I are excite. (Baking Stuff WL)

I'll come back with the three I missed c:

Edit#2: Adding raffle phrase! fear cuts deeper than swords

Also adding one of the bonuses! Purdy paintbrushes are made in Oregon c: They've been made in Portland since 1925! c:

I'll go in a few random directions, here.

  • 1950s nostalgia snack box. If it doesn't bother him to acknowledge his age, this might remind him of some favorite childhood snack staples for less than $40.
  • If he might like a gadget toy, this SmartPlane can fly via your smartphone through a free app, and responds to your hand movements in real time, for about $70.
  • Or this techy golf toy, the Swingbyte 2 . It's a bit of a splurge at $169, but it's pretty nifty, and chances are relatively good that he might not have it.
  • Here is a molecular gastronomy kit that gets the creativity flowing with science. Some sites have it at around $50.

Maybe this list can help narrow it down for you, or spark a new idea that you like. Good luck!

We had some official and some less official traditions. Officially the only traditions we had were

  1. presents were opened Christmas morning (I couldn’t wake my parents before 6 and then progressively later as I got older). We were allowed to open stockings prior to parents getting up but nothing else. I’m sure part of that was to keep me occupied at the horrible morning hour I would wake.
  2. we would have a turkey dinner which my dad would be cooking all day
  3. at dinner we would have Christmas crackers because my dad is British. We would wear the paper crown during the dessert and read off the little joke to one another. After eating was done I could play with the cheap little toy that came with it. You open it by holding one end and another person holding the other. Then you pull and they make a popping noise and inside traditionally there is at least a tissue paper crown and a joke.
  4. when I was little we would sit down as a family and write wishlists to Santa. Once we were done, we would burn the lists. It was to send them to Santa. All the wishes were carried on the wind to him. After all, Santa is magic, so why couldn’t he hear wishes sent in the wind?
  5. my grandmum would send us advent calendars so that each night leading up to Christmas we’d get a small piece of chocolate and get to count down to Christmas. There are really expensive calendars (not what we had) or some much more affordable options like this.

Unofficially I would decorate the tree with my mom. When I was younger my mom would give me non-delicate/non-sentimental ornaments to hang. When I was older she would direct me to hang those important ones near the top of the tree (away from the cats).

All my important memories about Christmas were about the time spent with my parents. Yes, I remember how delicious the meal was, but I also remember sitting in the kitchen with my dad while he cooked. I remember the magic of making Christmas lists with my parents and the thought of Santa getting my list with it materializing for him at his home. I remember the paper crowns because I felt like a princess and we’d go around trying to make people laugh with the corny included jokes. Everything came down to spending time with family and doing something that didn’t happen every day of the year. That’s literally all it took to make my Christmas and Christmas-time magic.

That sounds like so much fun! My friend threw her birthday party with a similar theme. We played "top hits of ___" where she played a song and you had to guess which year it was in the top song. She also had props from famous movies. So, she had a blow up boom box for photos so you could hold it over your head in "Say Anything". My favorite was the '90s props - she had chokers, butterfly clips, and things like that for people to wear throughout the party. Throw in some crazy wigs from the costume store, disco balls, and some snacks and you're good!

You could probably find tons of ideas on pinterest just going by each decade. Search "'90s party ideas", etc. for each decade. And maybe Amazon! They have decade themed candy boxes that could be fun to have out. Something like this.

My SO and I have now been together for a year as our anniversary was the first of this month. We hung out, ate at an Italian deli, walked along the beach, (he) ate a deep-fried twinky, watched the new Star Trek movie, had sexy times, gave each other presents (he got me sonic screwdriver (Tenant) earrings and two video games!) and just generally had an amazing time hanging out with one another. It is definitely a memory I am going to cherish, and I am happy just thinking about it.

This, this or this from my snacks wishlist would be amazing. I might even share it with my love. ;)

When I was recovering from cancer in the hospital and rehab, I met a woman on Animal Crossing. Every day I would look forward to chatting and playing. She became my best friend and motivated me. We are still good friends after 20 years! When I have income, I send her little gifts on holidays as a reminder how much she means to me. I'm glad she has stayed in my life, because those friends are truly hard to find. This is to her. Her favorite chocolates.

My favorite drink is TEA. All tea. I have so much of it. There is a tea for every emotion and every day. Green tea when I need a pick-me-up, black tea to sip between meals, white tea when I want some dessert, and roobios tea at night.
Tea is always a good idea
Thank you!! :)

I don't think sending them to the USA is a problem for the person sending them. just be aware that for the US person receiving them, this can technically be considered "smuggling/importing of illegal content" and the official fine is set at 2.500 USD per egg. (which is just so mind boggling its funny again).

Choco Treasure Eggs should be on sale since Easter this year but you can't order them online anymore due to summer (heat) (just to point it out though, they aren't actually Kinder Eggs, different company, different chocolate, Kinder Eggs are still illegal). additionally they look nothing like Kinder Eggs, looks more like a hobo version of them (wrinkled aluminium foil etc.)

Though I doubt the kid would care looks like an egg, is made of chocolate and has a toy inside.

here's an Amazon link for em: choco treasure mix $14.77 for a 12 pack

(thats actually cheaper than Kinder Eggs)

Fazer is the largest chocolate maker in Finland and not sure if Fazer or Cloetta (swedish and makes shitter chocolate by far just like marabou) is bigger internationally.

Thing with chocolate is that manufacturers can never guarantee that there aren't any trace of nuts though they certainly try mainly because they manufacture all kinds of chocolate with the same machinery.

Best bet would be a truly handmade chocolate where the maker can absolutely guarantee that there aren't even traces of any nuts.

Speaking of which they did use to sell make your own chocolate kit with all the ingredients and instructions, haven't seen it in the markets for a while but sure enough Amazon has those on sale as well.

u/Ulysei · 9 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I use an old Ferrero Rocher chocolate box like this because it comes with the little gold tray inside with individual places for each jewelry piece, I’ve also cut a “row” from the tray and used 3M sticky pads to stick it to the edge of my bathroom counter (I have a ridge of counter near the wall that forms a kind of small shelf). The gold tray is pretty, and one row width is a perfect fit on the counter “shelf”.

When I travel I use a contact case or a small pill organizer to transport/organize a few prices !

u/hairy_gogonuts · 1 pointr/Finland

So are you abroad and the teacher is Finnish and he's leaving back to Finland? Maybe he has stayed a year or two abroad? Any details would be helpful.

While Sauna is very Finnish I doubt it makes good presents, especially for a male. Sauna hat, perhaps?. Here's another. It's funny, it's got the red star of Soviet Finland (SF).

Maybe something more generic, like Finnish chocolate

u/jkpinatl · 2 pointsr/bourbon

These are great as a gift. There is a Woodford Reserve version that comes in a nicer box but these are better:

I would recommend wiener nougat. It's classy and usually found in fins Christmas bags as well. Also geisha of course. Don't know if these are snacks tho, at least not savory.

Here's couple links if you're an American,

Fazer Geisha Chocolates with Soft Hazelnut Filling Small Box 5.3 Oz (150g)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001S1FRWQ/ref=pd_aw_sim_325_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=DPHJG2MNAHXT5D5DH1ME

Karl Fazer Wiener Nougar Original Soft Almond Nougat
https://www.amazon.com/Fazer-Wiener-Nougar-Original-Almond/dp/B000YBZEW4

One of the only candies which has stayed same since 1904.

u/Skelliwig · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This is just NOM-A-BLOODY-LICIOUS....I love retro sweets xx

u/SmilesUndSunshine · 2 pointsr/harrypotter

Hmm, I like this U-No-Poo idea.

There is apparently official candy from the Honeydukes at Universal Studios according to the wiki: http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/U-No-Poo

But I don't see it listed on the actual Honeydukes page: http://www.wizardingworldharrypotter.com/shops/honeydukes

EDIT: oh wait, Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Studios-Wizarding-Honeydukes-Collectible/dp/B00DAD5ZI6

This option is very tempting...
