Reddit mentions: The best cat id tags

I like these slide on metal tags. They fit a basic belt buckle collar, but you can get them onto quick release buckle collar if you're willing to take it apart and sew it back together. This is the collar on my dog right now along with this id tag. No sewing necessary. I'm pretty happy with it, but I also am a fan of the fun patterns that Blueberry Pet offers.

We have this one that doesn't need a thin/tapered end and no matter what it doesn't come off. We actually use it with the breakaway collar the Bwabbit listed. It's safer than the dangle ones, but I like it best because it doesn't jangle all around and keep me up at night.

There are a variety of taste deterrents you can use. In the USA there is a brand of alcohol-based mouthwash called Listerine, if you have that in Australia or something similar you could use that. (Make sure you get one of the "original" astringent flavors, not the sweetened fruit or mint flavored ones).

Also you can get tags that go flat against the collar, like this slip-on style or many permutations on that idea. Personally I like that style because they don't make any noise and are much less prone to wearing.

P.S. - why do you need an ID card for your wallet?

My indoor cat does not wear a collar inside. Only when I take her out of the house. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I use to have his rabies tag and town licence on his collar but I found it unnecessary. It probably is the law where I live too but I can not stand the jingling!

I suggest looking into tags like these, they aren't exactly what I have but close enough and I love them. You either slide them onto the collar or you wrap them around, it will stop you accidentally attaching the lead to the tag rather than the collar plus less crap dangling from your dogs neck.
