(Part 2) Reddit mentions: The best fashion sneakers for women

All of these items are from my "Things I really Want" wishlist which is full of stuff from my other wishlists so that's how I'm organizing this, if that makes sense.

The Highest priority of everything is my tv, which I am not linking because it is hella expensive. I don't have a TV, and I kind of really want one so I can get cable and watch tv.

For Ezra and Jude this cat bed because Ezra loves to curl up under the covers with me and Jude has taken over the other bed.

From my "for the home" wishlist, I would love paper towels I burn through these so fast so it would be awesome to have a nice little stash so I don't have to worry about not having them.

From my girly stuff WL, these shoes because they are super comfortable and I walk to class. And I really want them because they are cute.

From my books WL, this quilting book because I am learning how to quilt and I hear it is a great resource.

From my get my ass in shape WL, this arm band so I have a place to put my phone while I'm jogging/walking that isn't my sweaty bra.

I travel a ton for work and these have been my workhorses:

• Lo & Sons Hanover backpack: Loooove this backpack! Fits everything I need for 1-3 nights, and it’s the perfect carryon for longer trips. I’ve always resisted backpacks — they usually make me look like a giant toddler — but this is neutral enough for a reasonably professional look.
  
• Balega Hidden Comfort socks: These keep my feet more comfortable during long days and help reduce blisters.
  
• J Pillow neck pillow: The only neck pillow I’ve used that is actually comfortable.
  
• Bagail packing cubes: I swear by packing cubes! They’re especially helpful when you’re hitting multiple cities and need to keep your stuff accessible without fully unpacking.
  
  In terms of clothing, YMMV but I generally pack a mix of cotton/wool (easy to air out) and synthetics (wrinkle-resistant) in dark neutrals. My stapes are:
  
• Everlane cashmere crew in charcoal: I’ve worn this at least once a week for three years. I love it.
  
• Ministry of Supply “Easier Than Silk” blouse in black, navy, and white: Nothing like silk, but travel friendly.

Shoe advice for college graduation!

Yesterday I went shopping for a graduation dress and work clothes. I totally meant to be frugal but I ended up splurging at NY&C. Granted, they had some pretty good sales that allowed me to get a lot more than what I was originally intending. Therefore, the splurge was worth it!

Here is my dress option 1 (in Bluish Sky) and dress option 2 (in Paper White).

For shoes, I want to go a little untraditional and wear clean white- or coral-colored sneakers such as these or these.

  I hardly wear heels in my day-to-day life so I want to stay true to my style and be comfortable since it'll be a long day/weekend of grad activities. Also, graduation is outdoors so there are tons of tree roots and things to trip on, lol. However, if you have any heel suggestions, let me know! I can always bring two pairs of shoes to switch in and out of.

Thank you for sharing your insight and experience with me! :) I ended up doing just this. I was afraid that the bigger size would also turn out to be a bad fit and thus cause me to go through the anxiety-inducing hassle of returning the shoes once again (which is partly why I created this thread), but concluded that I really had no other choice but to be brave and take the risk, as no amount of information can ever 100% protect me from that or substitute good old-fashioned trial and error.

So, I ordered size 8 (which is half a size up from the first pair that I had bought) and it turned out to fit me decently. It was still a bit of a struggle to get my feet into them and they were still a bit narrow as well, but not intolerably so. I hardly noticed a difference length-wise, so it looks like the main difference between sizes 7.5 and 8 is actually the width instead of the length. Everything combined, I decided to keep this pair, figuring that it was the best compromise between length and width that I was going to get in this case - especially when you take into account that the shoes will stretch after a little while. As such, I'm now the proud owner of the surplus nylon dusky green classic slip-ons and glad that I took the plunge! :D

No problem! I looked on Ulta and several brands have some body glow that would work. Also I found sequin mermaid tights on amazon!

Sort of by definition they are. Because the ones I've noticed people wearing were incredibly obvious.

I like the feel of heavy duty shoes. The grip is really nice. Particularly since I'm a burly gentleman, If i step off to run its nice to have a solid grip on the earth.

no they're soft and flexible like ballet flats, though they do have a thin rubber sole (hence why they are a bit more durable), so it's not different pointing your toes in them than ballet flats. I can't find the ones I have anymore, but I guess they'd be something similar to this, with a thinner sole and 'floppier' top bits:

They don't look as nice or 'dancey' though, probably (too sporty looking), but I like how they fit better (like ballet flats feels a bit like wearing socks, but this feels like more like a sock shoe). But yeah, it's not like I dislike heels, but I don't think it'll be good for my feet in the long run to exercise in them every week so it's nice to have a balance of the two.

However, what I run into issues is when doing butterfly because the heel portion sometimes would come off.

I had this dilemma a while ago also - I used to be quite into running so the only thing I owned were Asics. Late last year when I started lifting again I noticed my form was SO off for lower-body lifts on account of the extra padding so I took the plunge and invested in a pair of Nike Metcons and I couldn't be happier with them. They're a cross training shoe but super flat so ideal for lifting. I can also comfortably run 5 K on the treadmill in them as well as box jumps etc. without injury so far, highly recommend. Just wish there was a more ethical/eco alternative as I'm trying not to buy Nike anymore. Also kind of wish I went for a more neutral colour but the pink monster took over so.

I ended up ordering a pair of Ralph Lauren chukka boots (these ones) that were $23 in my size and have decent reviews. I found a few keds that were cheap and cute, but I liked the look of these better. I hope they fit! Thanks for the response, too.

Oh man, I've been waiting for a post like this because I love talking about my shoes and have put thought into refining my Summer shoes to 3 pairs or less.

To be honest, I sucked it up and bought plain black suede mules because I want them and I don't want to wait for them to become saturated and or cheaper by next Summer.

But I've always loved a good Summer clog when done right. To me it looks breezy, carefree and a nice clog with a bit of height can help give off better 'posture'. Like this look with jeans. Or, here's a good example of two women pulling amazing summer outfits in clogs. Or this avant-garde leaning look.

On the more casual end, I personally own a pair of black and white Superga 2750s, and would wear them with a simple outfit much like this one. They're a pretty effortless way to look casual but I guess there's a (sigh) french-chic/European flair to them that makes them fashion. Here's Alexa Chung being Alexa Chung in them.

I really like their boat shoes.

I ordered them because they were non-leather, and not only do they look great, but they're really easy to wear sockless because of the padded, spongy, and super comfortable insole.

I own the Reebok version. I wear them to work and I'm on my feet all day. Came to say pretty much what everyone else has been saying--they're very comfortable shoes. The only thing that I really notice is they improve my posture when I'm wearing them. The two parts of the shoe are rounded and force you to keep balance (I've also almost twisted my ankle a few times from laziness tbh) and like some one else said, they've had me feeling like I'm using muscles I don't use a lot.

They seem to have good reviews on the amazon site as well. Not sure how helpful those will be.

Any of the stretchy memory foam walking shoes are good, I got mine for very cheap at an outlet store if there are any near you. They give a lot of support and are easy to put on (I can’t bend over anymore and still can work these)
