I keep my gowns in these - I went with clear plastic over the cloth or opague version because if I don't see what is inside, I forget it exists. I also specifically wanted it to be durable/wipeable/waterproof/car dirt proof so that i wouldn't have to be too precious when transporting them but you might like another version of the bags or getting thinner ones to store one dress in each. Once you figure out how many you need and what kind you like, you should be able to get them at a lower unit cost by buying the multipacks they have on amazon. Some things to consider:

- Regular suit bags aren't long enough so getting the 65 inch length bags is necessary (I'm 5"5 exactly so I have a few dresses that end up slightly too long for the bag).

- Depending on the bulkiness of the garment I can keep at least two in one bag. If there is beading, I use clear shoulder cover dust protectors to separate them so they don't snag one another. I eventually reduced my collection down to a small enough amount where I don't need to double up anymore. It looks nicer this way too.

- Having them all the same length looks much more cohesive than having the 54 inch bags mixed in with the 65 inch bags. It looks significantly better than keeping them in dry cleaner plastic or different colors from different stores.

- It can look a little busy in my closet but pairing down my collection to only the ones I love helped.

- Because the ones I got are vinyl on both sides - they can stick to one another or make a lot of noise than if I got the ones that have a fabric backing.

Now I love looking at them in my closet like it is a collection!

I've noticed that most tension rods in my closet aren't hung high enough for gowns anyway and have hung heavy duty hooks or rod brackets that extend outward high up and on the side walls of my closet in order to maximize closet space and keep them from touching the floor. I've also hung the over door version like these. It is amazing how much you can fit on just one!

I feel your pain. I have two orange cats and no orange clothes to match. My best advice would be to try and make note of what clothes attract the hair more than others (for example, I have one pair of yoga pants that attract cat hair like a magnet). Now I don't buy clothes based on this, but it helps me keep in mind what clothes are higher maintenance (and then I generally wait and put these items on right before I leave the house). For example I have a black wool jacket always picks their hair up. It only hangs in my closet, I put in on right as I'm leaving, and it hangs back up as soon as I get home.

Also, buy a big pack of the smaller lint rollers. Always have one in the car and one at work.
If you have clothes that are always troublesome, or that you need to keep nice (e.g, cocktail dress, business suit) I love using garment bags for in the closet. On the same note, keep your dry cleaning in the bag until you wear in next. Kinda makes me think of American Psycho but those bags sure keep the fur away.

This is the perfect way to fix this! I have done in hundreds of times. The only thing I do different is re-hydrate the entire body to avoid cracking a seam somewhere else. I use one of the hanging closet bags your grandmother had (http://www.amazon.com/Household-Essentials-Hanging-Wardrobe-Garment/dp/B0044SFUAE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1451140907&sr=8-2&keywords=hanging+closet+bag) and place a small plastic pan of hot water in the bottom. I change out the water every few hours until the crack closes. Sometimes it’s a few hours sometimes it will take days. Then finish up the crack like MothRatten says. Cleats on the inside are good bet. Small spruce rectangles with the grain running opposite the direction of the top.
Good Luck!

Use something like this if you really want to http://www.amazon.ca/Household-Essentials-Garment-Dress-Black/dp/B00GN7SX76/ref=sr_1_11?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1450837273&sr=1-11

It will protect your suit, allow you to wear something else, and often the flight attendants will be nice and hang it up for you. Otherwise you just put it on top of other carryons

Do you have your own closet? Maybe it would be possible for you to keep your clothes enclosed in their own garment bag, like this :

https://www.amazon.com/Richards-Homewares-Jumbo-Garment-Closet/dp/B0000TQF1Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1538511185&sr=8-2&keywords=hanging+clothes+closet+clear

This one hangs inside your closet, and there are free-standing versions too. That will protect them from outside smells, and you could also put some dryer sheets or sachets inside for some extra nice smells. Sachets inside bureau drawers will help also.

I use clear garment bags that I bought from amazon. I bought the wider ones and can usually fit about 4 or 5 jerseys in them. Here’s what I bought. A 2 pack was $12.

I'm not sure a whole dry cleaning bag is a great idea, some air circulation might be beneficial. This is what I got:

There's one on Amazon, but as you can see there is a steep surcharge (it's not sold by either Amazon or Ikea, just to clarify)
Ikea Table mirror, black 226.291429.3038 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072HTJSFP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_uglQzbJ9594PE

If you want something a bit similar I've found this from Urban Outfitters

The hanging bags are easier:

Keep the door to your room closed and your closet door closed. Keep a good HEPA air filter running in your room. Also consider getting some plastic clothing bags to keep your clothes in
