I developed thinning hair at 24. Most genetic hair loss is totally reversible now-a-days.

Genetic hair loss is usually related to an accumulation of DHT in your scalp. You treat it with Propecia and a red laser hat. Super simple. I reversed mine within 6 months. I’m 31 now and my hair looks like it did at 16. It’s really a nonissue.

The study of hair is called Trichology. You can probably look up a place around you to get the prescription from an MD, and the laser hat is now around $600 on Amazon. I paid $1200 for a hat like this about 3 years ago. Your doctor may recommend you their own brand.

About your heart and the girlfriend, sometimes life gives you shit. Take a breath and steady yourself. Work on one issue at a time. You’re going to live another 80-100 years. If you focus on one thing at a time, you’ll soon find you run out of problems and work your way to improvements. It’s all going to be ok.

P.S. We’re pretty damn close to just 3D printing a new heart for you. An Israeli company just demonstrated a proof of concept last month. That’ll also be a nonissue soon.

Buy Rogaine Foam in 3 month increments on Amazon because it is very expensive anywhere else. The Way-Mart here in Vegas doesn't carry it anymore because people were stealing it, and the same 3 can box at Target goes for $50. Don't buy the single can either because it's $25 on Amazon which is steep for how much you'll be using it. I runs something crazy at Target like $35 a can. The Pura D'Or shampoo has a lot of different options. I just bought this Pura D'Or shampoo and conditioner and really like it. I always work it in my hair and let it sit for a few minutes with both the shampoo and conditioner since they both block DHT. You also may want to start taking saw palmetto until you get the finesteride. It's a supplement that you can find at Wal Mart that blocks DHT as well, just not as well as finesteride. So to recap:

Step 1: take a pic of your hair the day you start so you can see the progress in pics.

Step 2: order Rogaine Foam from Amazon.

Step 3: order Pura D'Or from Amazon.

Step 4: order Saw Palmetto from Amazon.

Step 5: set up an appointment with local dermatologist, even out of pocket it should be $100 for the visit and about $100 a month for the pills.

Step 6: wash hair twice daily with Pura D'Or, use Rogaine to style your hair twice daily, take saw palmetto twice daily, and finesteride once daily. They all block DHT and help healthy hair grow.

Step 7: wash, rinse, and repeat and take pics every 3 months so you can help the next fellow thinning redditor in the future just like I've helped you.

Step 8: save up your cash, and hit me up for a discount on all MGM rooms here in Las Vegas to show off your thick mane to all the ladies here in Las Vegas that you've been nurturing for months.

Hi,
Since I do quite a bit besides just my supplements, I am unsure what has particularly helped with my hair, skin, etc. I added a section in my post about my skincare regime; it's quite simple.

I take the Whole Foods Hair, Skin, and Nails supplement. I know several people on this blog have said that biotin supplements do not help, but perhaps they have helped for me. I think the Saw P and Neem have also helped with my hair growth.

In terms of my hair, I am confident the oil I purchased on Amazon has really helped with the growth, and like I said, I add two or three drops of rosemary oil to it.

The three things you should do to save your hair and regrow some (probably around half) of what you've lost:

  1. Use Bosley shampoo and conditioner (starter kit is currently 29 bucks or so on amazon. Use a shampoo brush to properly get it in there - believe me, the difference between with and without the brush is huge. Leave the shampoo and conditioner both in for five minutes each. Do this every single day. After about four to five weeks you'll start seeing new growth - fine little hairs that will be shorter than the rest of the hair on your head. They will grow longer and thicker with time. After you've run out the starter kit, you can buy one liter sized containers of the shampoo and conditioner only (not the thickening treatment though) for about 40 bucks on Amazon. I like the thickening treatment, but I don't bother with it because it's very expensive outside of the starter kit.

  2. Use minoxidil twice daily. Every day! Skipping this is how it doesn't work properly. You can buy a year's supply on Amazon for about 50 bucks.

  3. Take a Biotin vitamin supplement. It will thicken and strengthen your hair.

You won't lose any more hair if you follow this religiously. Trust me. My entire family is a bunch of bald guys, usually total loss by 30 - I'm in my mid 30's and still have a thick, healthy crop of hair.

Oh ok I get it :) there is two more options, saline solutions can collapse the veins really quickly and beautifully but you need to talk to a professional dermatologist. It only costs at most $100. Or if that doesn't work, the expensive option is to inject fat in your arms. Which also works, but not as well! and it's quite expensive like in the thousands. But you're gonna be fine. Give HRT a little more time and try the saline solution one!

The only one I found was this

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/ANTI-HAIR-LOSS-SERUM-with-PROCAPIL-and-BIOCAPIGEN-100-ml-GEROVITAL-PLANT-/281344568894

I ordered it yesterday,

there is also another from amazon

http://www.amazon.com/Rolland-Una-Oxygenating-Treatment-3-17oz/dp/B0055DUBMY/ref=pd_sbs_bt_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=18DQ41J97ES4G2KPQZQV

None of them are mainstream products, but I just want to shed some light on propcapil, which is made of Biotinyl-Tripeptide1, Oleanolic acid, Apigenin

There is also provia, but its damn expensive.

I'm sure there are other ones from out of country, but I want to find a trustworthy brand to purchase from. I dont mind sparing 10 bux to buy the Gerivotal brand one, so I decided to give it a try anyway. It's made of good stuff so it doesn't hurt to try. It's also a topical.

You stop drying/straightening your hair (eliminate heat damange) and look into hair/skin/nail vitamins for accelerated growth.

I use these and love them. My nails grow in stronger and my hair grows faster - but you can only really tell hair growth speed on your legs so that's kind of a down side.

MTHFR - Postpartum Hair Loss

I’m a mother of a toddler who has experience experienced post parting hair loss. I have recently done a blood work to find out that all my harmony levels are normal with deficiency of zinc.

I looked out for some hair and nails supplement and done of them is expensive and FDA approved but none of them have B vitamins in active form. Is there a mom who can relate ? I’m looking out for pointers

I've seen a couple of pretty good options on Amazon, along with a lot of overpriced useless stuff. This one seems to have pretty high reviews.

u/fellwoods · 1 pointr/tressless

> if you use natural DHT blockers that actually work, you'll face the same problem.

Seconding the "correct" answer.

On the other hand, you could start with low-dose finasteride to see if you have side-effects (you need to be diligent in noting things like libido and ejaculate volume), and if not, ramp up the dose bit by bit. Personally, I felt my libido dropped due to Finasteride, as well as when I tried the HairOmega DHT blocker (which contains saw palmetto). I stopped using both, and got back to normal soon enough.

In retrospect, I may well have been "looking" for the side-effects that I found them, so you could make it somewhat unbiased by using your SO as a test evaluator (e.g., not tell them there may be side effects and notice if they observe anything different).

A lot of women use the men's rogaine, so I think using the Kirkland brand would be totally fine. If you look at the reviews on amazon, a lot of them are from women. I personally think you should try the rogaine for 6 months and see if it works! I'm 30 now and wish I had started it when I was 23 -I might have more hair, haha. I can't speak for viviscal but my derm recommended this supplement https://www.amazon.com/Elon-Extra-Strength-Hair-Growth/dp/B009NWSRQ0?th=1 and I think it's cheaper.

I started taking a DHT blocker this Spring to deal with thinning hair. To my astonishment it also seems to have kept me from developing a single cystic nodule since I started taking it, too. Normally I would have developed one, maybe two under my jawline by now but not a one. Perhaps a DHT blocker might help you?

EDITED to add link to product that I'm taking:

Don't want to create a whole new post since it's a simple question, but is [this](https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/KS-Hair-Regrowth-Treatment-Minoxidil-Foam-for-Men/PRD5J7U4V0SIXOI) a good price for foam minox? I have liquid currently but it's giving me horrible dandruff so I'm trying to switch to foam and it's more expensive so I'm unsure. Or should I purchase [this](https://www.amazon.ca/Kirkland-Foam-Minoxidil-Regrowth-Generic/dp/B00P4489I2/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=minoxidil+kirkland+foam&qid=1565315409&s=gateway&sr=8-2) ? Thanks in advance

As part as my routine (not really AB) I use an Ayurvedic treatment on my eyebrows which has helped significantly. My left brow was always too short and it seemed that way for years like I was doomed with crooked eyebrows. I used this every night for a few months:

https://www.amazon.com/Eyebrow-Ayurveda-infused-Shikakai-Rosemary/dp/B00LH21HCU

It takes a long time but I started seeing hair where it hasn't grown before. Girls often put this on their lashes as well but I didn't bother since I didn't want it getting into my eyes. I'm sure the only active in there is castor oil, but the oil drop container is really handy.

Hello. I have been loosing hair steadily over last 15 years. Because of stress, too much smoking. I don't give a damn about it since am married and wrong side of 30s. However i did try various means to increase hair growth.

One of the most recommended natural remedy is applying onion juice on head and then washing it off. This is a cumbersome process and very difficult to do if u dont have done help from family.

Recently I heard about onion oil on Amazon. Been using it for a month and it is showing promising results. Even my Baber says he can spot hair growth.

I'm in a similar situation to you with early stages of mpb where thinning is beginning to progress passed the hairline corners so I have a couple questions on your plans.

Considering you just have thinning at this point and not full hair loss beyond a mature hairline, is there a specific reason you've plan on starting Minox already instead of waiting to see how Fin does? I'm hesitant to start Minox right away because as far as i'm aware your hair becomes dependent on it and once you stop you'll lose everything you grew on Minox even if Fin would have saved those areas. If Fin works on those areas that are thinning wouldnt it just prevent you from having to use Minox for the rest of your life?

You can buy Kirkland brand minox off amazon for a reasonable price. 6 month liquid supply for $24

https://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Minoxidil-Strength-Regrowth-Supply/dp/B00EXPSYVA/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1503630840&sr=1-4&keywords=minoxidil

Or you can just buy some on Amazon.ca with free shipping for 62 CAD....

u/AndyEGM · 1 pointr/tressless

this one actually https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00EXPSYVA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you use amazon regularly I would suggest signing up for ebates, and doing all your amazon purchases through them. You get cash back on your purchases :) (not a lot, but they add up over time)

u/BigRedCowboy · 1 pointr/Hairloss

You can buy a six month supply of minoxidil for $22 dollars from amazon, so cost isn’t that bad. Getting wet/sweating are probably things to avoid, but if you put it on right when you wake up, then again before going to bed, it shouldn’t be too big of a deal. The real inconvenient part for me is that it makes it kind of difficult to style the hair that I have left.
