Reddit mentions: The best hair side combs

Not saying that doesn't happen, but in my experience, the etsy resellers are taking these items, photographing them nicely, and making up a story about them being handcrafted in their boutique atelier. It's not an issue of the photos being the same, but the same item being gussied up and sold at an 300% markup. For example, this etsy listing is two of these amazon combs wired together. This etsy seller at least wired some faux pearls to the comb before pricing it at $40, but it seems disingenuous to claim it as their own "handmade to order" work. I found the same thing with wraps and shrugs- pieces that were clear relabels on etsy, marked up tens or even hundreds of dollars. So definitely beware of amazon listings, but if something is in two different pictures but seems like the same item, there's a good chance it is.

Just a tip, for any veil you get, steaming it (I put my SIL's veil in the bathroom and ran the shower really hot for 15 min then let it sit there in the steam) will make even a cheap veil look much better as the weird crimps and crinkles fall out and it will look soo much higher quality.

I made my SIL's veil (I heat fixed swarovski crystals and pearls around the edge and did a quick whip stitch to a comb) and it was super easy and fast. There are some great DIY tutorials out there, this one is pretty helpful and you don't even have to finish the edges of tulle as long as you cut it carefully so it's not ragged! (I'd recommend a rotary cutter for a nice smooth line and much faster cutting, just make sure you've got a cutting matt or cutting board underneath!) I didn't get a necklace because I prefer a more simple look. I did however end up wearing a necklace for the reception portion because a relative gifted one during the tea ceremony during cocktail hour and I didn't take it off. It was a very simple rose gold necklace.

honestly, if you know someone who can sew decently by hand and is crafty, this is probably an easy DIY! lots of people make their own veils, so you could cut the veil to the right length and attach it to a comb if you want to keep the lace attached.

That's the comb! Unfortunately, it costs more than the dress, so FH put the kibosh on that (as did I). I found another that I like, as well as the hair for it.

I wore this comb to my wedding. It's more gold/rose gold looking in person I think. The "branches" are slightly adjustable so the girl doing my hair/makeup had them positioned around the back of my hair/updo.
