You are welcome. And add one more item to your kitchen wish list. People always forget that Kitchen floors get dirty fast.

Well, I had a different one on my list but it was 'Under Review', so I found a different one. I could REALLLLLY use a Swiffer, especially since I now have two cats that shed AND a puppy that likes to play in dirty muddy spots in the back yard T_T It would help with me not having to use a stupid mop and bucket anymore, which just kills my back.

Thanks for the contest! <3

If that doesn’t work try
Basic Coatings Squeaky Cleaner Spray - 32 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ZKRJ2O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_1ux5BbYRWZ7W6

u/Kranklebottom · 3 pointsr/japanlife

シールはがしスプレー. Shi-ru hagashi spray kudasai. Say it at the 100 yen store person.

Or order it online: https://www.amazon.co.jp/3M-%E3%82%AF%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%83%8A%E3%83%BC30-%E3%82%B7%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB%E3%81%AF%E3%81%8C%E3%81%97-100ml-CLEANER30/dp/B0039NFBFE

Less toxic than some, try liquid wax

u/Notevenspecial · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

Try vinegar first. It is a calcium dissolver. Soak some rags, and let them lay on the tiles for one to two hours. Wash and evaluate.

If that does not work, then try some CLR.

Lastly, try this product:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine-Sol

Pine-Sol doesn't contain pine oil any more because it's too expensive. But this does: https://www.amazon.com/King-Pine-Concentrated-Cleaner-Multi-Surface/dp/B00TU6MSAK

If you want to, try using this product on the floor before you remove all your grout. Replace missing and loose grout first, let that dry, and then use the product. Pour it on and see if it can lock the grout into place. After it dries, pour some more on. And then some more.

“For use on most types of interior floors including vinyl composition, rubber, asphalt, tile, terrazzo, unfinished concrete and no-wax vinyl.”

edit; it's my guess that this product will not make the grout sit for long, what with the weight upon the tile and the non adhering materials not enjoying each others company, but it may be worth a try.

Damn. Get some orange glow that will fix em up

I just did a major cleaning of the tiles in my apartment and they look awesome now! Here's what I did:

First I attacked the grout. I used this brush with this grout cleaner. This stuff is really good. The only places it wasn't perfect were in the kitchen where there's this black sticky stuff I got up with some plain rubbing alcohol and that same brush and behind the toilet where I think the grout was permanently urine stained. Gross, I know, but I really couldn't get it up. My old roommate was gross. I then sealed the grout with this product and a small artist's brush to prevent the grout from ever getting that gross again.

I then got down on my hands and knees and scrubbed each tile with a stiff brush and this tile cleaner (you can probably find it much cheaper at your local hardware store). I then wiped each tile with a clean microfiber cloth to soak up all the water and grime. I had to switch cloths every 10 feet or so with 18" square tiles. I then sealed the tiles with this sealer.

I will maintain the floors with regular vacuuming and a steam mop.
