3. Kegco BF EBDCK-5T Conversion Kit, 1 Faucet with Tank, Deluxe

    Features:
  • DUAL GAUGE REGULATOR: Durably constructed to deliver a consistent flow pour after pour, this Kegco 762 Commercial Grade Double Gauge Regulator features a T-style adjustment valve that makes it easy to adjust the pressure inside of the keg. The gauge on top of the regulator indicates CO2 pressure in the keg, while the gauge on the side indicates the remaining volume of CO2 gas. A pressure release valve is conveniently located on the body.
  • LEVER HANDLE KEG COUPLER: This NSF-approved Kegco KT85D-L "D" System Keg Coupler features a sturdy nickel-plated forged brass body with a stainless steel probe, and is designed for use with all domestic brand American D system Sankey kegs. The lever-handle design is easy to use - simply pull out and then down on the handle to couple the keg. A 55-psi pressure relief valve makes this coupler even more convenient to use, allowing over-pressurized gas to escape before it enters your keg.
  • DOOR MOUNT STAINLESS STEEL DRIP TRAY: Our 6" x 4" door mount drip tray's clean design, durable stainless steel construction, and attractive brushed finish have made it a favorite of beer lovers. Hassle-free from start to finish, this drip tray can be quickly and easily mounted using the two screw holes in the backsplash, and when you're done dispensing for the day, a removable grill makes clean-up a breeze. This drip tray does not have a drain, so it will need to be emptied manually.
  • HEAVY DUTY FAUCET WRENCH: Make repairs and adjustments to your draft beer system like a pro using this heavy-duty faucet wrench. This durable metal wrench has a vinyl coated red or blue handle that provides an easy grip while loosening or tightening shank collars, allowing you to quickly attach or remove your faucets without scratching them.
  • INCLUDES EMPTY 5 LB. ALUMINUM CO2 TANK: All of our brand new tanks are made from high strength aluminum alloy which is not as heavy as a steel tank and will not rust! These eye-catching tanks have a glossy red coating that acts as an extra layer of protection against corrosion and wear.

I have to go fill the CO2, so I definitely will check it out. It looks nice and new, just a bit dusty. Here's the kegerator:http://imgur.com/gallery/wdlfMuH

Not much inside but the hose for the tap and a shelf. It's pretty large, looks like this one. It seems like ball lock are most popular and easier to get parts for, so I might go with that after my measurements. Thanks for the tips!

What did you think about this deal on the ball lock keg with gear from kegerator.com? Adventures have a slightly higher price it seems.

I have the same one though I bought the fridge conversion and two-tap tower from Amazon and got the CO2 tank and lines from my LHBS. I love it, I think it's a great value. Only thing I'd say is if you want to upgrade later you may want to go with the larger Edgestar model that will fit 3 kegs.

I also got another of the same fridge to use as my fermentation chamber.

There is a lot of interesting choices these days on our beloved mega-online-corp site for ~$100 or less.

Like:

But almost all of them are spotty as well. And not a lot of non-mega-corp website reviews. =(

This is the one I have (no referral link) be sure to get a keg line cleaning kit and clean every couple weeks. It will taint the beer flavor and cause massive foaming if you don't.

You also dont need the co2 tank. Most places exchange tanks, so your new shiny one will be lost and replaced with a scuffed up "dirty" one before you get to enjoy your first beer.

Even if you find a place that fills, they usually only do it a few days a week, at specific times. Have to be lucky. If your tank runs out, you are sol until the place is filling next.

The one I have is this one: http://www.amazon.com/Avanti-1-7-Cubic-Dispenser-Platinum-Finish/dp/B004J67SHO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1343409863&sr=8-1&keywords=avanti+kegerator

I have 4 mini-kegs carbonating/conditioning right now. I haven't used it to dispense any beer yet, so I don't know how that works or how cold it keeps the beer. When I turned it on empty it got down to 40 pretty quickly. It only takes 16g or 9oz CO2 cartridges, so that seems pretty limiting. From what I've read, the 16g only pushes one 5L, and the 9oz pushes 8-10. Doesn't seem very economical in the long run to keep this thing in CO2. I'm going to use it this once, and then I am going to sell it and put the proceeds toward a dual-corny set up (the only reason I'm even using it once is because my gf bought it for me).

For 3 grand you could get an Everest monster with space for 9 homebrew kegs...

u/chachi0314 · 1 pointr/DIY

I'm on my way to building a kegerator. I bought the freezer and the thing that is going to keep it at 35 degrees. I found the CO2 tank for $30. Now I need the rest of the stuff. [is this a good deal?](Kegco Premium Door Mount Kegerator Keg Tap Conversion Kit with No Tank https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0046LBZBC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_SlgjybTCSY8NS)

I need to know if this is a good deal. I don't mind starting with just one connection. I got a 15 cube freezer so if you guys know a good deal on 4 tap kits. Then please let me know. If not should I just stick to the one I found.

Also curious. Just occurred I found this mini kegerator at Walmart for $25 in the bargain bin (brickseek), wonder if it'd handle cold brew.

I'll try one day but maybe someone else has tried it.

Its that one. Got it on a woot sale. Its really a cheap in the world of kegerators but it keeps the beer cold and it spits it out when I pull the handle so I'll take it.

u/JoeCap90 · 2 pointsr/Homebrewing

It is this kegerator I bought off Amazon. If you're looking for just a fermentation chamber though, I would just start searching around CL for half or full fridges on the cheap.

u/I_am_not_angry · 2 pointsr/BarOwners

For the price of running lines and buying regulators and taps you can get - https://www.amazon.com/EdgeStar-KC2000TWIN-Kegerator-Draft-Dispenser/dp/B0170O0D82

Small (2 feet by 2 feet) and portable (Wheels) you can roll it in and out as needed.

Now, you said there is not room for more taps, but then you said you have a basement.... Have you measured and priced out building a walk in cooler in the basement right under the bar, then you could run the beer lines up the wall and the only bar space taken up would be some wall space and you could have MANY taps. Like this -

u/grizzlywhere · 1 pointr/Coffee

We probably could've. We had a rotating beer tap and the coffee tap in one of these.

It wouldn't have been anything more than pulling the hose off and running water through it, but people are lazy.

u/cpverne · 3 pointsr/kegerators

Did you open the valve on the tank? You say the tank is full, but is that based on weight/shaking the tank or from the gauge on the regulator? Remember that the keg will come pressurized, so it'll push beer on it's own for a while until the pressure is used up. I've made the mistake of turning off the gas to the keg but not realizing it because the keg has pressure too.

If the tank gauge on the regulator is 0, then there's no gas coming from the tank.

If the tank gauge isn't 0, but the regulated pressure gauge (measuring the pressure after the regulator) is 0, then the regulator is probably turned completely off and you have a leak after the regulator.

Edit: Looking at pictures of the KC2000 on amazon, it looks like it only has a single output gauge, and no tank gauge.

  1. Make sure the black knob is opened fully to the left
  2. The blue knob is aligned to the red hose.
  3. Then adjust the regulator by turning to the left until it reads 15 psi (or whatever your beer should be set to).
