I'm moving soon too! In a week from today, exactly. I'm moving off to an apartment for college. Because of this, I have an entire wishlist of household stuff that I'll need. It's the wishlist called "Stuff I Actually Need", which is full of cool and cheap household items someone will need when moving into their first place and also school supply stuff- just ignore the school supply stuff.

As for a specific item, you should get one of these shower curtains

Other notably awesome things I've found that you should get include:

Amazon gift cards make excellent gifts as it allows the employees to choose what they want to buy. You get them in various denominations and in diwali themes like these

You can also get chocolate gift boxes

along with sets of clay lamps or candles

Or if you want a more local or personal touch, you can contact one of the big sweet shops in the city they are in and place an order for mixed boxes of fresh sweets like barfi, kaaju katli, peda or other assorted sweets which dont get spoilt easily. The shops can guide you as they take huge orders from corporates and bulk gift orders.

It's a good backup that will do in a pinch, but I wouldn't use that knife every day. If you like having a backup knife that you won't forget to bring (provided you habitually leave with your keys) then the Q2 may be something you'd like. If you don't actually use your knife a lot it's fine, but if you use it for hunting/fishing, work or whatever else I would not recommend the Q2 as a primary knife.

If all you need is a key organizer I would recommend the KeyMate for $15 off of Amazon and a knife of choice.
You can get a Kershaw Leek for $36 and still spend less than what you would have on a Q2, or of course get something a bit nicer or whichever suits your needs.

If you need something discreet maybe a Leatherman Skeletool since that's a multi-tool or a Case knife, if you do stuff like cut boxes all day I'd suggest a folding utility knife like the Gerber EAB. If you like something nice maybe a Kizer Feist or a Spyderco ParaMilitary 2, something from Benchmade, Zero Tolorance, Micro Tech, Chris Reeve Knives and etc. etc.

First off, congratulations!

Big fan of a cork board to hang fun art, important papers, photos, stickers, etc. from. Stress balls and desk toys (I got a magnetic mini sink that holds paper clips, 10/10 would recommend for a conversation starter), aesthetically pleasing calendar, fluffy blanket for those cold months, throw pillow on side chair if you have one, World Market makes pretty garlands, if you like cats this is the perfect glasses/keys holder.

I couldn’t afford to frame art in my office and instead - I got those thick mini close pins, hot glued those flat mini thumb tacks on the back and put them in the wall to hang art (and then it’s interchangeable!). People comment all the time that they like the idea.

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Brings me back memories of Ren and Stimpy.

Uh. You should make a marble cake. 'Cause those are delicious. With fluffy buttermilk icing. Mmm... Man, now I want one. So good.

A thing.

First of all I'm so sorry for your loss

"My heart has joined my enemies, for my friend stopped running today"

Watership Down - Richard Adams.

You can get dog lead holders with the dog breed shape & name from this company:

https://www.oakdenedesigns.com/products/personalised-dog-lead-holder?utm_source=Google%20Shopping&utm_medium=Product_Ads_CPC&utm_campaign=Main_Shopping_Campaign&gclid=CjwKCAjw_uDsBRAMEiwAaFiHa03qBVcsR5U9MpDsv3KS4hhZzLuK-gvu2Gkf0_AzTNNyKQqeXeLGAhoCe_AQAvD_BwE#fo_c=3058&fo_k=954c6b7f4774e1734c0abd02db39ddbf&fo_s=gplauk

You could also get a dog tag engraved with his name & the date of death. Most keycutters sell a variety. We got some nice chunky ones that looked like silver with a sort of matt shine.

I have done this with my bunnies & my partners dog.

Bunnies

We have bought a metal rabbit silhouette Key hook (Two actually but they're identical) that has 6 key hooks on it, I've had 8 rabbits so far so 6 wasn't enough space.

steelprint.de Key holder/hook Rabbit - bunny key hooks for wall, hanger - 6 hooks black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B018SQ76QI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dVyMDb7Q3JGR0

(They do dog shaped ones too)

Anyway got each bunny a nice heart shaped dog tag to hang on this that says the name of the bunny and the date they died. Have wanted to do this for a while.

Partners dog

Dog was only little with small collar and small extending lead.

Dog has nice bone dog tag (same style as the bunnies but just different shaped) with name & DOD engraved on it and a 6" x 4" wooden tag with his name painted on it & with a hole in it (for collar to hang through) The tag hangs by a ribbon.

(I think he got this on etsy but I couldn't find it)

Etsy, amazon & not on the high street do have personalised pet memorials to buy as well.

Not on the high street do other personalised lead holders too:

I hope this helps.

Luck!y! How fun! I cant wait to take my girls there, gotta wait till the baby is a little older :)

  1. Aladdin. I love that movie. When my dad died in the 90's, someone gave us a new Aladdin and Lion King VHS. I watched Aladdin everyday. It was funny and I loved the songs.

  2. his and hers key holders

  3. See ya real soon!

  4. headband for babygirl

    Thanks for the contest!
u/KatelynnPwnz · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I was just gifted this key holder I love it, its perfect size and pretty, my SO and I hang our keys and sunglasses on it! :)

This retro toaster oven/coffee maker is cute and it comes in different colors!

A nice shower head I HATE the low pressure spray everywhere shower head that came with my apartment. Lol

Tupperware is essential I didn't realize how important it was when we first moved in until my SO had to take macaroni salad in a ziplock for lunch xD

Cutting boards are also really helpful! I have a marble one for meat but the flexible ones make cutting up veggies and adding them to your dish way easier!

u/[deleted] · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

/u/DREAM_CATCHERS you always have great ideas! Plus, I love you!

WOOT WOOT! Congratulations! School was insane for me... I'm glad you made it out alive. What is your degree in?

Here are a couple things that might liven up your desk:

u/mech_kitty88 · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I've found a couple things...one of them being this funko pop of chewbacca wrapped up in Xmas lights :)

For purses/bags, I use an over-the-door hanger like this. It gets a little crowded but easy to find my bags.

For scarves, I use a scarf hanger, which you could also use for leggings/tights as well. I keep my scarf hanger in my coat closet by the front door in the wintertime. I keep a basket for gloves and hats too, in my regular closet. Is your wicker basket lined? I can imagine threads getting caught and pulled!

For tank tops that I rarely wear (mainly for layering under sweaters), I use a tiered hanger. I suspect this could work for many types of shorter tops!

u/Claralou · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

While scrolling through Amazon.com I found this awesome gadget. Would be great if you are watching a film on it or you are following a recipe when cooking but don't want to leave your phone on the counter. Or even if someone is calling while you are cooking/otherwise occupied! Just clip it anywhere, answer the call and carry on doing those odd jobs!

The other item you may find comes in handy is this or this

The first key holder is fab for storing mail as well as your keys and the second is one with a saying to remember on your way out of the door everyday! Trust me, when you move house, you will probably forever be looking for where you last had your keys!

Very cute space! Love the wall color. I realize I went a little overboard. But I'm stuck under a sleeping baby and this was fun! :)

If it were my space: Twin bed along on wall with large window, pillows arranged as daybed. Dresser on tall wall. In front of that a low table/kids table. Fun rug underneath to create the feel of a separate space. 2 high Cube shelving unit in between sitting/table space and rest of the playroom. Cube units allow for access on both sides. TV mounted up in corner of the tall walls. Triangle flags draped across the ceiling over sitting bed/table section

Congratulations!!!

I really need a key holder because I'm constantly losing the car keys and then having to race around the house for 20 minutes trying to find them!

I know Sheldon (BBT) would prefer a bowl, but I really would prefer the cat key holder on my WL!

Thank you for the contest and please STOCK MY HOUSE! :)

u/WhiskeyandKittens · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This is awesome, and useful!

You? Me? You? Me?

u/mindfeck · 3 pointsr/frugalinteriordesign

This looks pretty good.

I have this more minimalist key holder that's served me well (I actually use it)- http://www.amazon.com/Umbra-Magnetter-Wall-Mount-Organizer-Espresso/dp/B002E35GFU

u/Vanzai · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I had a similar contest and the suggestions were awesome.... you definitely needs something like This

thanks for contest

u/stopbuffering · 1 pointr/dogs

I use this clip and think it's perfect. You can put the tags right on it. I don't know if it'll fit around the pieces on Floyd's collar though. They do have other sizes, you just might not be able to slide the tags right on and you might have to use a metal ring (but you could probably use a smaller one).

u/Nam-Ereh-Won · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Ah, I've had that happen before. Luckily work is within walking distance, so it wasn't so bad. Do y'all have a key holder by the door? We've got one of these at my place!

u/ZippoS · 1 pointr/gaming

Yup. Phone in the left pocket, wallet in the right, keys hooked onto my belt loop.

Also, I have one of these as my key-holder. It's stylish and works really well.

u/FrankMcDank · 1 pointr/interestingasfuck

On the his and hers key holders, on "his" holder the key part needs to be on the holder, and the receptacle on the holder :P

u/ColinAllCarz · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I need this so I stop loosing my keys - a ninja keep stealing them.

/u/xowyomingox needs this because aliens stole her water faucet head the other day.
