I have used the split ring/keyring approach with my bags. To secure the rings get flat ones like these. Put them on the zipper then super glue inside the ring as much as possible. Of course they can still be pried apart but at that point it would be easier to just cut the bag or pop the zipper.

A Japanese brand called Okashina makes a 2x2x1 that is stickered with various logos. You can easily re-sticker them. Maybe the only downside is if you are looking for black plastic.
There was 2x2x1 made by Mohzi, but it has been out of production for a few years.
