These DeBeer goggles are the ones that I wore. I know a few girls on my old HS team that wore glasses with them, but they were smaller frames. I pretty much only wore my contacts when I played lax because I felt like my frames impaired my vision enough that I didn't feel comfortable playing in them.
Someone suggested these on amazon and said they work well if you wear glasses under them.
Congrats on the new team! Hope your first season goes well! =)
Definitely get knee pads. I use the G-Form Elite knee and shin guards and they're great. They're super comfortable and I usually forget I'm wearing them while I'm riding. I've also heard good things about the Kali Protective strike knee pads. If you start doing big gaps and drops and stuff you might want to get a full face helmet and maybe even a neck brace.

My daughter used these until she got contacts. Very few options out there, but she liked these.

I'm 'that guy' on the OW as I learn. I'm all padded up and ready for when I fall, and I'm not willing to risk snowboard season!
I also come from a motorcycle background so I dress for the slide, not the ride.
Here's my stay-puff marshmallow man gear...
Once I get comfortable, I plan to be down to:
I bought the Sherwood 5030 "Traditional" shoulder pads because I wanted something lower-profile, but I was amazed at how little chest/rib protection there actually was. I liked the way they fit/felt though, so I bought one of these padded shirts that I think are normally used for baseball to wear under it.
Haven't taken a shot to the chest with it, so I can't speak to effectiveness, but it does give me a bit of piece of mind.
They don't look at worse than some of the roller-blade style protection I see plenty of people using; but I'd say for a comparable price-point I'd rather get something like these with better padding and more coverage.

Got that recently and I love it, it's light weight and provides decent protection
Small input from me here but as a former baseball/softball player many of my teammates wore Heart Protectors like this one I don't know how much help this could be but if you are concerned about the lack of padding it could help. My team also wore soft helmets like these that really helped my team cut down on concussions. The goggles and mouth guards are the minimum equipment. There is some quick changing directions which could be tough on your knees, but playing attack or defense could minimize that for you. You could tell your mom that stick to body contact is heavily discouraged in the women's game. As for the protection you could consider investing in the things I mentioned above
I'm a weirdo and don't care if I sweat but I usually rock one of these. Has saved my ass soooo many times already, paid for itself. Note: I don't do parks or DH, just some gnarly trails and slabs/drops/rocks etc.

Also, weird as it sounds I'm considering switching to Lacrosse pads this summer, I want to cover my shoulders and clavical and it looks like I could drop some weight:
