For your reference and for the sake of transparency, here are the specialists whose opinions mattered the most in our ranking.
Yakitate Japan! is very similar in style to Shokugeki (great art, country bumpkin protagonist taking on the elite, crazy reaction shots) and so is Addicted to Curry. Cooking Master Boy takes place in medieval China so somewhat similar in setting to Nobunga No Chef.
For more realistic takes on cooking:
Oishinbo is one of the longest and most influential food manga and some of it is even available in legit http://www.amazon.com/OISHINBO-JAPANESE-CUISINE-A-Carte/dp/1421521393#
Technically it is about a restaurant critic, but the focus is on the food and technique and is super informative.
And I haven't seen it in English, but Shota no Sushi (King of Sushi) was made intro a TV drama.
Also, I would highly recommend the webtoon (korean online manga) Michelin Star http://tapastic.com/series/MichelinStar
And I agree that Bambino is excellent as well! and it's a more realistic story in the world of Italian cooking.
For crazy fantasy cooking stories, there's Toriko that is a bit too out there for me. (it looks like fist of the northstar and has crazy out there fantasy worlds and foods like one piece). There's also Space Chef Caisar by super artist Boichi that is somewhat ecchi and is very out there as well.
Another sweet, sweet episode.
In other news, the first volume is being released next Tuesday in English! Here's the Amazon link if interested! The first five volumes are up for pre-ordering as now now.
Note that the link is an Amazon referral link. This is a direct link that uses Amazon Smile, which contributes a small portion of your purchase to a charity you choose instead of some random internet person.
There is one graphic novel that takes place before Origins that comes out this month.
There are an additional five that take place either before or concurrently with City: one with the same name as the game and volumes 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Arkham Unhinged.
Although there's no graphic novel for Asylum, there was one short prequel comic book that is now out of print, but which can be read for free here.
I've actually reached out to Archie about this a couple times. They keep saying the graphic novels will continue, but Vols 9-11 keep getting pushed back according to Amazon and other retailers.
Archie does however have a "Master Edition Vol 1" that is supposedly coming out in May, which will collect graphic novels Vols 1-3 and is apparently manga sized:
http://www.amazon.com/Mega-Man-Master-Edition-Vol/dp/1627388737
So while they haven't said anything, my hunch is the original line of graphic novels will never be picked back up, and these new Master Editions will come out to collect all of the issues.
As for the entire comic line itself, some are speculating that it was put on "hiatus" to reboot it next year to align itself with the new animated show slated to come out. Both Archie and Capcom are silent about it so it's just speculation at this point.
The Udon ones are pretty tight, there's a full collection available on Amazon
I saw a trade hardcover at one of my local comic book stores earlier this week, so there has to be a collected print edition.
Edit: Here's the trade hardcover on Amazon for $16.85. The trade paperback comes out in July.
I forgot he did that one too. But I was referring to this one:

Oishinbo More of a food manga than a cooking manga but still explains lots of techniques and such.
Yep.
The English volume one comes out March 6th 2018.

Thanks! I ordered this too since it was on the page and I'm a sucker.

In 1998, I had to choose my first nickname to join my Counterstrike Beta 1.5 team. I was a noob, and not skilled at all, and i was getting killed very often.
Years before a funny italian writer made a parody of the Bible. In the genesis, he said God to create all animals and plants and shit, then he created the Spaturno, but he saw that he was useless, so he disintegrated it.
So, with a lot of self irony, I decided to empathize with that creature and adopt its name. (caption says: "..then He created the spaturno, but he saw that it was useless, so he disintegrated it."
Btw, even if it sounds like a current italian word, Spaturno has no meaning at all in italian.
