No matter when it was done before, you should do ALL of the following so you know EXACTLY the last time it was done. I have a 2008 5.7 Hemi Limited, below are tips and links I used. The info is out there for the other models / motors if you have a different one.

Firstly change ALL fluids;

Oil & Filter

Transfer Case - http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/wk-transfer-case-fluid-change-write-up-830603/

Differentials - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQgKqnc7D48

Coolant
etc. (Make sure to look on this website to be sure you are using all the correct fluids for your model / engine wkjeeps.com )

Then come some common issues / easy fixes. Here is a link to a mopar tune up kit with alot of the parts I list below - http://www.amazon.com/GRAND-CHEROKEE-COMMANDER-5-7L-HEMI/dp/B003ZW9EUM

Replace EGR Valve (Get a Mopar one, not after market) - http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/showthread.php?516169-DIY-how-to-install-a-new-EGR-w-pics&highlight=egr%20valve

Replace MAP Sensor
Replace Serpentine Belt
Replace PCV Valve - http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/changing-pcv-valve-1336134/

New Air Filters (Engine & Cabin)
Replace all Spark Plugs (Champion 570 ONLY for 5.7 Hemi) - http://www.jeepgarage.org/f156/diy-hemi-5-7l-spark-plug-change-50750.html

Check & Replace if necessary Belt tensioners (annoying little squeak when they arent good any more)
Clean Throttle Body - http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/throttle-body-cleaning-tips-1342502/index2.html

Here is my thread on another forum of the write up of all the work

Some other options you should consider;
Recovery Points - Rear Factory Hitch & Bezel with D-ring (Easily installed at home, no welding, bolts right on)

Front Shackle Mount Brackets & D-Rings - Here is where I got mine

I also put a Flowmaster Super 44 Exhaust (Muffler only, remove stock muffler, weld in new one, leave stock resonator in place)

Also added Spider Trax 1.5" wheel spacers.

Here is my baby.
