That makes me legitimately sad for you :( The fact that this cart is still functioning is due either to a minor miracle, or someone having replaced the battery at some point.
The good news is that you can keep your old carts going by simply replacing the batteries yourself! They run on standard flat watch-type batteries that are easy and cheap to find (though they do sometimes require a tiny bit of soldering), and you can purchase a kit for pretty cheap that will give you the proper tools to maintain your carts!

Shoot, I was gonna see if I could buy it from you, if you couldn't get it working. I have fixed a few N64s, and have yet to add a watermelon to my collection. Hope it works for you, nostalgia is one heck if a drug. Do you have the proper screwdrivers for disassembly? Amazon sells them very cheap. A good teardown and cleaning never hurts (as long as it all goes back together properly and without static discharge, latex or another pair of gloves recomended).

Alternatively.
You can mold one out of a pen.
Find a pen that is relatively hard plastic and skinny enough to fit into the holes on the back of the supernes.
Take the ink out and dispose of it so you have just the pen tube.
Find a lighter.
If you have some sort of handkerchief or glasses you can use it as a mask, else get ready to hold your breath.
Prepare to melt the end of the pentube by applying heat to it with the lighter, careful not to set it on fire.
and prepare to insert the melting end into the back of the Super NES over the screw.
Execute what you prepared for, you might feel a squish of the melted plastic on the screw, and wait a good minute and a half for the pen to dry and harden over the screw,
this may take a few tries, but if you are careful enough turn slowly to drive the screws out.
A set like this will get you into pretty much any Nintendo game/console, and some Sega Genesis games as well. 3.8 mm will get you into the Nintendo stuff (NES, SNES, GB, GBC, N64), the 4.5 into Sega stuff, and the tri wing gets you into Gameboy Advance games/systems as well as newer Nintendo consoles ( like the Wii and DS) as well.
