Here is one that I have and a friend of mine has. it has held up very well for the time I've had it which has been about 2 years.

I use this front pocket wallet. It keeps my licence, credit/debit card and a few other cards in it. I also keep a few $20's just in case. But most stuff I purchase with my cash back credit card.

I don't like having anything bulky like a wallet in my back pockets.

I have a simple money clip I use in addition or sometimes in place of this if I know I'm going somewhere that I will use cash. If I use it instead of I take my drivers licence and credit card out and leave the rest of the wallet locked in the glove compartment.

I've been using a basic money clip for a few years now. I use 3 cards as well, and while I can't shove more than a few bills in there with them, that's all I need.

Chance he would like a money clip? I have a small metal one like this that I put a couple dollars in and my credit card, debit, and license. Probably not a good option if he doesn't ever carry cash though.
