While the $99 Ryzen 3 1200 would get the job done just fine, it could be a bit of a bottleneck if you plan on upgrading your GPU to anything above an RX 580/GTX 1060. For a mere $65 more the Ryzen 5 2600 is a much better choice as far as performance and future proofing go. It would pair quite nicely with any GPU, and won't bottleneck pretty much anything (unless you get something ridiculous like a Titan V, perhaps). As for a motherboard, I've always went with ASUS. The ASUS Prime B350-Plus would be my choice for your price range.

These are 5 star games we're talking here. Not to mention you get like 10 no names to go with it. Hell, you're probably going to spend hours playing some of those.

Pretty soon you've got 100+ games that you may have spent a few hundred dollars on. Things are great, but you decide hey, I would LIKE to have a little more FPS on these. So you order yourself a new GT 1080, and sell your 1050 on ebay making back about $50. Later on down the line you decide to upgrade the processory, maybe add a stick of ram later. Now you got a stew goin. But you don't have to, that rig will play almost anything (though possibly on lower visual settings)

PC is just more budget friendly in my opinion. You never have to just throw the whole thing away and get a new one. You can always replace components and upgrade things individually. There's never new platforms to learn, get used to. You can always use your same old controller, and you can always play your old games. In my view, buying consoles is basically throwing away money because you have to buy so much hardware EVERY TIME they decide to release a new console.

There's give and take to it. I just like the stability and deep discounts I get from Steam, GOG, and Humble Bundle. I wouldn't even game if it wasn't this cheap.

  The one thing missing from this is a case as the delivery costs are very high due to it being a big, bulky item - maybe it would be best to look for a low cost, €20 equivalent type of one near you. You won't get anything beyond a black slab of a box without breaking the budget but what is inside it is much more important in this price range and you're getting a good bit for that.

  I have done two 1050 TI builds as gifts with a G4560 CPU in them and was on mostly high settings at 50+ fps 1080p when testing them out, so with a 1200 quad core (that performs identical to an i5 7400 when overclocked) you should be doing a good deal better here.

I would advice you should buy a ryzen instead of upgrading to a already dead platform. A ryzen 1200+b350+8gb ddr4 ram will be ideal choice. I would have waited till zen+ (March-April) next year, but since your pc is dying, it's upto you whether you can hold on.Though 8350 with 1050ti will not be a bottleneck,but may affect in your future gpu purchase. I just checked the total price came less than 300 euros. You can wait till Christmas or buy right away since there are great discounts even now. If you want more cpu performance I would advice you go with r5 1400 or r5 1600, still total price is less than 400 euros.

These are definitely not the best options, but at the price limit you have I think it's probably the best you can do. I'd run it by someone else though just to make sure. Never trust just one stranger's suggestion on the internet!

Edit: I just realized you don't have a GPU. Is that why you were going for the 2200g? If so, then it's gonna be another $20 or so. But the budget you have is pretty limited for the best bang for the buck.

That would definitely be a mistake to purchase that CPU.

As long as you have a quad-core CPU which was made in the last few years, you could easily game with an appropriate GPU. The CPU you listed is only dual-core. It won't be an awful gaming experience, but there are games which won't run on only two cores.

If you wanted an alternative to the CPU you listed you could either go for a Ryzen 3 1200 or a Ryzen 3 2200G. The Ryzen 3 1200 is a new quad-core processor and is only about $20 more than the CPU you linked. The Ryzen 3 2200G is about $40 more, but it has built-in Radeon graphics which I've seen perform really well. Just make sure you get enough high speed memory if you go with the Ryzen 3 2200G.

I think I want to upgrade my CPU and GPU.

And I do want to say, that currently, it works great already. I just can hardly run the new Injustice 2 Beta, and a few other games, and now that I have the money, I'm looking to upgrade. I've been looking for hours, and I just want to make certain that these parts will work still, and that they are significantly worth it.

if starting at intel G4400 (a crappy experience), you're only talking $120 for double the cpu power plus dgpu. you'd spend more than that upgrading the shitty machine in a couple years, meanwhile the amd would still be holding its ground. i agree some would think they'd prefer the G4400 but it'll fall short of expectations and they'll want to replace it sooner than they might think, thus the short term saving becomes a long term loss.

if you start with a more and more reasonable intel cpu, the price to go double the power with amd drops to $50 in the low-mid range, and becomes $0 or cheaper at the mid and high ranges.
